This is just a random idea and iam not sure what you lot will think about it.
but here it is:
- 1 gem value = 1 hour of builders time
so if need to build a testla that costs 1,000,000 gold/500 gems it would take:
- 1 day if you have 1,000,000 gold
- 21.8 days if you have 0 gold (500 gems = 20.8 days)
The purpose to gems is to be able to more of less instantly start a building at regular speed or finish it instantly. And also it would be waaaaay to easy to grow if someone could just finish a 8 day building in 1 day with no gems. AND you can buy resources with gems so why would someone pay in gems and wait?
Wouldn't we define this as 'gemming' an item?
Or are you implying that those who gem it should get the option to not pay resources?
In that case, your thread should be presenting this idea as:
Changing the current system, so when you gem an item you get a proportional amount of resources back.
But all in all, I am personally against this. It encourages people to use gems even more, as if it isn't shoved towards us enough.
Yeah this idea needs to go back into the oven. It's half baked.

It sounds like you are asking for an upgrade layaway program?
You can start a build even without all the resources, you just pay in gems for the extra resources you don't have.
