Moving defenses out of base while upgrading?

Been trolling for awhile and this is my first post. Max TH7(minus mines and collectors) recently upgraded to TH8. With so many defenses on the list for upgrading, should i move them out of my base while upgrading?

Why not?
Strategically place them as giant traps.

I just leave them where they are even when upgrading. I should probably at least move them to the outer of edge if not outside walls. I cba with filling the gap but if you have a replacement defence then why not put it outside the walls. Could be useful with spring traps I suppose.

Decoy for giants, and so as not to reveal the tesla locations to someone potentially revenging you.

Gonna give the spring trap decoy a try.

I thought the new WB targets walls that have something behind them. If so, wouldn't it be better to leave the building in place during upgrading to act as bait for WBs and slow down the attack?

WB's are smarts , they can be conducted, will be no trap for them; as about the the giants , there is another matter, they are dumm, and as long they will find somme defence aut of the walls (equal upgrading or not) , will attack there; there is the trap! you only need to put the upgrading bilding in the reach of a non-upgrading defence.

I have been thinking about that as well.

Upgrading outside - hm

Pro's:
Works great as decoy for giants
Replace any defence with another (If you have a spare) - better for your storage defence.
With Tesla it will hide the real position.
You can hide your upgrades in a corner (and hope no one sees it - LOL)

Con's
Leaves a space open? Must be replaced!
cant really make a "final" layout if you use "spare" defences as replacement.
Tesla hiding. Since they are upgrading they still dont work. And your attacker can any way see that it is upgrading.

Spring traps work extremely well on upgrading defences left outside. There's not much use in leaving them inside unless your design doesn't allow for them to be easily replaced by something like a mine or elixir collector. Also change your design slightly to cover for the weapon being upgraded.

I would suggest switching it out with a mine/collector or something else and try to place it to decoy giants. Or if you're lazy like me just leave it inside as it doesn't have a huge affect anyways.
