How do clan trophies work?

Hi I'm new to the forums and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question. How are clan trophies calculated, we've noticed that our total trophies are more than what our clan trophies are.

Clan trophies are a percentage.....
Ranks 1 - 10 = 50% of cups
Ranks 11 - 20 = 25%
Ranks 21 - 30 = 12%
Ranks 31 - 40 = 10%
Ranks 41 - 50 = 3%

Does that make sense?
