Cut down all my trees. Bought 5 smelters. Used diamonds to buy those last 3 bolts for barn. Didn't know about wheating. Ran back to my farm after every page in dd. Used 80 gold vouchers for those last donkeys. Ok that one wasnt that long ago. But still!! Oh and lets not forget 5 smelters. 🙀🙀🙀
I also bought five smelters at first and thought it wasn't worth it but in the end it was, I now have seven slots on each and the vouchers in return made it worth it, I mean don't sell a gold bar, pies sell for more than gold lol, at the beginning I also planted on tree one bush not realizing how long it took, I think now most of us have a good rythem going on lol
I only used tom about 5 times in my free days because i had no idea that he was cheaper, so I also only bought the number that I needed to fill my truck order boards.
I think tom should maybe let everyone know that he can sell things to you at a discounted price because he buys wholesale or something when he frst intrduces himself.
I sold everything at default or cheaper thinking no one would buy my things
I would say either yes or no to the visitors because i thought wait a moment literally meant they would walk away if i didnt come back to them within a minute
I would eagerly go searching for diamonds to get 8 so i could pay for that last plank for my barn upgrade but i would also open chests hoping that last plank might be in it.
All I can say is thank the hay day gods for dscovering the forums when I had to decide between buying my juice press, fishing, mine or boat dock (I was really short of money lol, even though I didnt think I was)
Ok, so call me stupid, but I didn't realise one could upgrade their tackle box until today...and I'm level 45.
ouch.
I also didn't realise one could turn townies away (not serve them), for the first week after town opened.
what seemingly simple things did you not know about until much later than you should've?

Didn't know you were awarded diamonds for catching fish (neither did my daughter). My grandaughter was playing my game and found 120 diamonds in my fishing book and my daughter found a similiar amount in her game!

In the beginning, I didn't try to open mystery chests on other farms because I thought I was stealing prizes meant for them. :facepalm:
My daughter literally fell down laughing at me over that one!
My husband didnt know that when you pick up people on your personal train, if you click on your neighbours personal train at their station it brings up a complete list of who is going where until he was complaining to me a few days ago that it was too hard to choose people when theyre standing on top of each other and I told him the easier way.
I'd been playing for a while and was level 40 something before I found this forum.
Before I started reading the threads here I didn't know:
you could upgrade the tackle box
send boats away
trash truck orders
turn on double tap confirmation for using diamonds
decline tom's offer and send him on another run if he only came back with 7 items
I also didn't really undestand how global events worked, I thought as long as you contributed you got diamonds
When I very first started playing I thought you HAD to serve all the visitors and do every truck order on the board. I also thought you had to spend diamonds opening every mystery box available - I learnt the hard way when I quickly ran out of diamonds!
I didn't understand what TEMS, BEMS, LEMS and mining stuff were for and how precious they were.
I opened the mine as I thought it would be an exciting new world to explore, I was sadly disappointed when I realised you couldn't go inside.
took me ages before i discovered tom's balloon could be popped and out would come prizes
at the beginning thought the recommended rss selling price was THE selling price.
