The problem with such bases is that even though it appears seemingly segrated, it is in fact, very easy to reach. Reason why is because the compartments are too big; albeit the lack of sufficient walls to stop WBs, ie. 1-2 waves of WB is enough to crack the egg and the goodies can easily be reached.
The mindset when building this base was to prevent as many big loot losses as I can; with that in mind I attempted to space out the storages so attacks would either have to completely destroy my whole core -and most likely base for that matter- to be able to take all the loot. With the one real attack that was done he / she giant healered into the right side of my base, and the level 6 giants split some going into the top right compartment, some going into the wizard tower compartment. Healer was quickly taken down and the attacker used a heal spell on each group of giants, they then deployed their barbs and archers along with a rage spell to take out the dark elixir storage and the elixir storage.
Seeing how u've placed the compartments, a strong loonian attack from the west would most surely guarantee all 3 gold storages. If you want to maintain the compartments, you've got to segregate them more (i would suggest a triangulated formation- one compartment top, 2 more on the southeast/southwest ends. That way, its more challenging to reach all 3 of them.
Never been attacked by Loons, so I'm not too worried about that.
Also, there isn't really a high emphasis on collector protection (with the exception of DE drill), so i would take those walls covering the collectors to create more layers for your compartments.
As you've said before "the compartments are too big", with that in mind I had extra walls so I protected my collectors. Large flaw in the base.
And like you've already said, the funneling needs work. :P don't be afraid to open up at junctions u're confident will attract giants. Just make sure that your springs can't be triggered by lone giants prematurely.
The problem is that I almost never get fully attacked so it's hard for me to test the funneling, I have a clanmate who is a fresh town hall 8 also trying out the base, he had a modified base before, and the tesla / double spring trap worked. He's now using the exact same design, he might be able to get some logs to help the funneling in this base.
Other than the above, ur triangulated and point defenses look good. :D
