I know how since always based on trophies, but just frustrating how my base at lvl77 can get raided by someone lvl 117 and a th higher. There should be a significant reduction in loot and trophies they could gain.
Also, would be nice to be able to search for someone by name instead of just clan search.
Sorry if any/all is redundant.
Some one 4 lvl higher than you can drop trophies and prey on weak people like you.

Welcome to thenext stage of your Clash of Clans development. A new game awaits you. You've already got you Sweet Victory achievement gems and you've probably been pushing to see how high you can get. You've also started to realise how expensive your upgrades are starting to get. (What do you mean 100k for one wall). How are you going to save up the loot you need and maintain your push to Champion? Well here's the secret. You aren't. Not yet. Now you have to realise for the time being that trophies don't mean anything. Now you have to be prepared to drop your trophies, sacrifice your town hall and protect the valuable gold and resources that you need so desperately to keep going (unless you have a credit card and a well paying job that allows you to buy gems). Welcome to farming. Ask your clan mates about it or better still look it up on youtube. A new style of game play awaits you. It only involves you becoming the person that you are complaining about now.
Don't worry. Storages overflowing with resources is a great way to make the guilt disappear.
Why would someone 1 townhall higher not be allowed to attack you, sounds crazy. Loot is reduced significantly when you attack someone two townhall levels below.Quote:

You're probably just too high in throphies, and no matter what someone higher then you is gonna ome along and destroy your base if you're packing lots of loot. Thats just the game.
I'm assuming they were TH10 since they were lvl117, and you were TH9?
At lvl 77, you're likely a premature TH9 (since I remember being around lvl 90 when I maxed out TH8 to move to TH9), so the fact that you're only 1 TH below them and you're premature, if you're holding any decent amount of loot of course you'd be a juicy target that any TH10 would want to attack.
This is the price you pay for not maxing out your base, your defenses are weaker and you become a juicier target to be attacked.
It doesn't mean you can't recover or enjoy the game, you just need to lower your trophies to stay amongst weaker company. Maybe gold 3 would be a good spot for you to hang around, definitely not crystal unless you can always keep your storages low.
Well, they just have to be around the same cup lvl.
I'm lvl76 and I've bumped into players who are lvl30.
