I'm currently facing a crossroads in the game. This is my base as we speak:

I now must decide wether to upgrade my TH to level 9, in order to unlock the Queen-Archer and other important upgrades, like Giants lvl 6 etc.
Or should I stay in TH8 and max everything.
What do you reckon?
I am in the same position and I suggest waiting it out! You still got quite a few things to worry about. Your WT, point defenses, storages, and mines are under-leveled and should be upgraded before you go to TH9. And your barracks too!? At least get those to lv 9. If you want to fully benefit from being a TH9 you must first have at least max offense and/or defense. Plus I do not see any lv 8 walls... :eek:Quote:

I don't think you are ready... I'm a bit ahead of where you are and I figure I have at least a month before I hit the upgrade button.
I'd guess that you have a ways to go on lab upgrades also... You may think that things will get easier once you upgrade to TH9, xbow, queen, stronger tier one and two troops but in reality it only gets harder. You become a prime target for TH10's and you lose the ability to raid TH7's for near full loot...
my mini is a th8 and I'm close to being maxed minus the walls and my hero being lvl 10. I would wait it out and max everything even those walls before going to th9.
You have a few options, in my opinion.
a. Max everything - Defenses, Lab, Walls, other buildings
b. Max everything except walls (at least level 7 walls)
c. Max everything except walls (with level 7 walls), then push as high as you can in trophies, and use whatever gold you get along the way for skulls.
d. Max everything except walls (Level 7+ walls) then drop to Bronze 3 and live off your collectors while you upgrade to TH 9. (the lazy option)
TH8 is the worst place to stay for long time... it's pretty much like TH7 (only 200 troops, not much more defenses), easy target for TH7+ and can't even revenge TH9. better skip TH8 and go directly to TH9.Quote:

this is horrible advice. At th8 you are relatively safe from the th10 farmers. Once you hit th9 the th10s and good th9s with decent heroes will feast on you with giant based armies and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. Plus, you are now eliminating all those nice easy th7s from your farming efforts.Quote:

I would say maxing walls are optional, but your defensive weapons are FARRRRR from being maxed. I'd max those first. There is no such thing as upgrading TH for better army for easier loot: the thing you have to realize is once you upgrade to th9, you won't be able to feast off th7 anymore and you'd have to raid tougher th8/9's. The AQ helps, but do you really want to get her beat up and take a 1.5 hour break after every raid before you can use her again? Either way you have to farm the same amount of gold to max your weapons to max TH8 level, but it'd be easier to do it as a TH8 rather than a TH9.
you are not even close to ready to go to TH9. you will get stomped by TH9 and 10 for 100 or 90% loot. If you stay at 8, at least you avoid th10 due to 50% loot penalty.
You have a lot of upgrading to do still...teslas and AD specifically.

Staying at TH8 be TH7-8-9-10 target or go to TH9 be TH9-10 target, which one is the best? Besides, get raided by TH10 or any TH both are the same, you get shield and lose some rss. Another thing, TH9 raid in gold leagues, TH10 players raid in crystal and high...so TH9 rarely get hit by TH10 in gold leagues.
Maxing th8 is always a bad decision as its one of the worst farming ths. Especially for DE. You've focused too much on point defenses and not enough on wiz towers and air defense which is much more important but that's okay. I Would start all your wiz towers to max than hit the upgrade button. Your gonna want to go to th9 with maxed splash damage.
If you want to get to th9 soon I'd rec you not focus on DE as It is much easier at th9. Though I would have 40k ready for queen right away. With maxed giants there's no reason why you can't knock out 30-40k de in a day of raiding. Make sure your farming troops are maxed first.
As previous poster said max storages and go. The big question? Are your farming troops maxed. If so. Why wait. During wait farm. Farm and farm some more. Hit th9 with 6 mil+ lix and gold and 40k de. Lvl 6 giants archers barbs AQ xbows 220 camp space second de drill. Are all waiting for you. I went at around same level and have loved every minute. No regrets

you have to either Max out every single things including all the lab / DE upgrades to brags about it...
or you can go anytime, don't worry about those voices about you'll get eaten by TH10 and you will miss TH7 loot... that is just false warnings from people that never been a premie.
What will happen is the opposite. You can defend better and with Lv.6 troops you can destroy more people on Gold League.
