I'm new to barching and usually use summat like, 4 wall breakers, 70'ish archer's and the rest barbs.
Problem is I normally get chewed up by mortars.
So I've thought a few times about using a couple of lighting spells to know the mortars out and may weaken some more defences.
But not sure if it worth the extra elixir just for a couple more trophies.
I wondered if any of you guys use spells?
The definition of barch is cheap and fast. Using spells makes it take much longer to attack, and more exepensive in terms of elixir.Quote:

3. Attack the ♥♥♥♥ outta bases, use heals on barbs close to storages once the mortar/wiz tower is pounding them if you're going deep in the base. I use max 2 heal spells usually per storage raid unless the base has crazy loot. I almost always get nearly everything with my lvl 6 troops. Collector bases you can loot like normally ofc without any spells.
free tip: anti-hog or anti-air bases with exposed mortars are easiest for this strategy, just break in the base at one of the exposed mortars and use heals on the other two. Forget using lightning to destroy the mortars, it's useless cause there are still wiz towers and other mortars left and it only helps with the one part of the base the mortar was covering. Heals help with all of the area defenses, bombs and in many parts of the base!

I keep a lvl 5 rage ready when I'm barching in the event that I stumble on a base with HUGE loot a little further in and I rage all the barbs then archers to get in there deep into the base. Otherwise, I don't use spells when barching.
Forget spells and wallbreakers. Barbarians will do it for you. Barbarians are the giants in this case. (please don't reply saying "Barbarians aren't Giants.")

You can throw a couple wallbreakers in there, but you must use them rather sparingly - only when you see bases with a lot of loot in the storages behind a few walls.Quote:

Think about it: if you're using 2 lightning spells to take out a mortar, you need to break at least 60k+ elixir in order to make a profit on them. The key to BARCHing is to be as minimal and conservative in elixir usage as possible. If you're using up 50k elixir on each raid and waiting 30 minutes between each raid, then you're doing it wrong.
I do 120 Barbs, rest archers ( I have 220 troop capacity). WB's are a waste for this purpose. Just use barbs as the buffers to go for walls, archers behind to take out defenses behind the walls.
If you search for full collectors you won't need to worry about breaking into walls.

I BArch also, but I don't use any WBs. I like to keep 4 lightning spells with me to either take out a mortars or zap DE storages. I only use them if the base has a lot of gold or DE though.
