You can upgrade if you want, but you won't be doing yourself any favors. Those upgrades you put off will still need to happen and loot doesn't exactly get better with each TH you go up.
I'd get your defenses and elixir upgrades finished first. You should be able to keep your builders busy for another month or so before you upgrade. Trust me, it is worth it to only have to worry about TH9 upgrades when you hit TH9.
Check your attack list and see what level town hall you are attacking and getting good loot on. If most of your good attacks are against TH8's, go ahead and upgrade. The loot will be almost exactly the same for a TH9, only a 10% penalty. Plus, you'll gain access to some better troops and the xbows. I upgraded much earlier than you to TH9 and had no problems with loot.
Now that loot really sucks I would max everything before th 9.

The only reason I don't work on my elixir upgrades are because all the elixir upgrades I have left are my barracks and gold mines, and I don't find the collectors that important, and when I'm upgrading my barracks, It takes longer for troops to train and is just annoying ;/
If anything I'd say you could go to TH9 when all defenses EXCEPT cannons and ATs are done but it looks like you got those first so you should stick around for the WTs and ADs. If it were me I would wait around for teslas too but that takes some patience.
This is a reasonable response. I will say that having 20 extra troops and an AQ makes raiding much, much easier (especially for DE, as your ground troops will get you closer, and the AQ can snipe from long range).Quote:

Okay thanks guys! Im going to wait a little longer and get my Wizard Towers maxed, Teslas atleast level 3/4 and Air defenses up!
Also get your lab upgrades up, at least get spells all to five and healer up to three if you use it.
Max everything but the walls, they take too long, just do the walls when your TH is upgrading
