Multiple CoC accounts on one Google+ account

Forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere but I couldn't find it.

I have one Google+ account that I linked both my sons CoC accounts to. I then also started a game and linked it to the same Google+ account. I can't remember any issues in doing this.

However, my one son has had to factory reset his tablet, so lost his game. He has re-installed and played the tutorial, but when I try and link to the same Google+ account to get his town back, it asks if I want to load MY town on his tablet.

Is there any way I can get his town back? We can still see him in the clan, just can't access his game.

OK... so a little more digging and I found out that my sons CoC account are NOT linked to my Google+! The tablets are, not the game.

The question still stands though. Is there any way to get my sons town back after his device was factory reset (it was not linked to Facebook or Google+)?
