I've recently joined a new clan and they have a theory that by changing your game language you will change servers and find villages with more resources to steal.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if this is true or not.

nope.
you can take a look at this
It changes the global chat you're in and displays everything in a different language, but that's about it.
There is only one Clash of Clans server.
Nope. That's a myth.
theres multiplee servers for global chat, but nit the game
Not true.
It's close enough. It shows that after a language change I am connected back to the same server cluster.
Not 100% correct.
================================================== =========================
There are multiple servers in the server farm(s) that SuperCell uses. Some are log-on servers, some are chat servers and some are game servers. Changing your language changes your chat server. It also, however, restarts the game. You get the exact same effect from changing languages as you would get if you restarted the game.
What does not change, however, is the physical location you are connected to. All connections, that I have seen, regardless of the language selected connect to the same server farm.
So, if you wish to change your, for lack of a better term, battle queue, do anything that breaks then re-establishes your connection with SuperCell.
One does not simply change language and find massive loot. *insert into the lord of the rings guy meme*
It's true. I do it regularly if the loot is bad then I log out n boot it back up which works. Learned it from clan mates and personal experience (forget to tap the screen). There is no way to fit every village on the same server so they spread them out and use algorithms to find a match based on trophy count and who has a shield or not.
The funny thing is that the people who think that changing their language to Chinese, for example, will allow them to find "bases in China." These people must not realize that all of the bases they find on raid searches are bases of people that are currently offline. These bases they find do not have any language setting, because they aren't clients and they aren't even online.
I mean, do they actually think that if they change their language to Japanese and then log off, then they are only going to be raided by other people who have their language set to Japanese?
Those settings, such as the language and whether the music is turned on or off, are stored on the client's device, not on a server. If you don't believe me, test it out if you have two devices such as a phone and a tablet. Change the language on one and log off. Then log in on your other device. You will see that the settings were only saved to the client device and not the server.
Yeah there is nothing that makes you get better loot by switching languages. It's all the same server. I think its more of a placebo than anything
what didnt you understand?
i've changed the in-game language to every single one available and it didnt changed the players in global chat. I am portuguese, i live in Portugal, so in my global chat there are only portuguese/brazilian people. If i change the in-game language to Norsk, the people in global continue to be portuguese/brazilian!
It's not related to in-game language but to your location! To change it you have to contact SC and they only do it one time!
I thought Norsk was overrun by English people, not Portuguese/Brazilians
I think you may be right though. I think I saw in a thread somewhere about how when you first download the app, it bases global on your location, so if you download the app while on vacation you are screwed. I'm not sure if it's correct though
OK, i went to spanish and everyone is speaking in spanish.
I went to deutsch and everyone is speaking deutsch.
I went to french and everyone is speaking in french.
I went to korean and no one spoke.
I went to japanese and everyone is speaking in japanese.
I went to english and everyone is speaking in portuguese.
I went to norsk and everyone is speaking in portuguese.
It seems that english and norsk either are full of brazilians or they are full so SC sends me to a portuguese chatroom :S
The thing is i alreay tested this and it always had the same result! And now its different! Definitely there are some other variables than language :\
