What's preventing you or "every one" from learning how to raid de the honest way? This is the type of comment that annoys me the most. "Deal with it"? No. I'm going to continue talking about it until it's fixed. Because it's stupid. You have a problem with it? YOU deal with it.
Taking advantage of a well known gameplay loophole that gets loot 100% of the time does not require skill but merely opposable thumbs. Is their any other tactic in the game that works 100% of the time? When the "advantage from your opponent" is a feature shared by almost every th7 and up (they have a de storage) then it's not some tactical advantage a clever gamer is utilizing it's a flaw in gameplay
As to why YOU shouldn't take advantage ... that's up to you man. Pride? Gamesmanship? Fair play? I understand the temptation to do it, but like Thatsallgood said, you'd be much better served learning how to get de the "tough" way.
well technically, i zapped last week to get rid of lit spells for war and why waste a spell when i can profit DE from it....[/QUOTE]
Appreciate the honesty and candor throughout the thread. That being said, use that leftover bolt on some clan castle wizards coming to kill your raiding Giants. Maybe take out a wall so your hero can get through or mortar so your archers don't get slaughtered. A zap to a storage is a zap to a storage, no excuse.
Thanks for the thoughtful response. Agreed mostly on all points. To clarify, I raised the notion of zapping also being loot ineffecient to highlight that it is not only a crutch tactic but ultimately a losing one too. My primary argument against it though is that there is no way to defend against it, I still get hit in crystal, and I want to get my heroes maxed at some point. So for me, zapping is still very much an issue that needs solving.
That selfish mentality and the ability to exercise it at will is exactly what this thread is about. Zapping is a flaw in the gameplay exploited by those who try to justify it to themselves despite knowing better. Smarten up, you can make much more loot learning to play the game as it was intended while also avoiding being labeled a crutch player.
I give everyone involved a lot of credit; this is one of the most entertaining and well-thought out arguments I've ever witnessed. Each side has absolutely legitimate points being made, and I have honestly gone back and forth while reading it. I am a zapper myself, but only on occasion. I do see how it is abused and why it is a complete cheap shot, but to me, there will have to be a lot of support behind removing its effectiveness against Storage buildings and Drills/Collectors in order for Supercell to really consider nerfing it. I also understand that there is really no "happy medium." One side sees it as a cheap, inefficient, annoying, cowardly way to gain a decent amount of Dark Elixir, while the other side sees it as a part of the game, not necessarily a necessity, but a strategy used in a strategy game. Really good argument from both sides.
I also would not complain if Supercell decided to remove zapping from the game or at least lessen its effects, since I am a hardcore barracks booster and do my raids legitimately 98% of the time. I usually only use a quick zap if I'm in need of maybe 1000 more Dark Elixir or so for an upgrade, and I don't have time to do an all-out raid.
