Lightning spells

I appreciate the conversation we are having as it is showing both sides of the argument so I thank you for that.

The main concern in other Anti-Zapping thread, seems to stem from the ethics behind the strategy. Most anti-zappers say that their only thing against zapping is that the Lightning spell circumvents all of their hard-work from their Defenses and takes exactly what the attacker wanted, and that it is unfair. People will say that zappers are losers, newbs, every name in the book for finding a strategy to what we want, without resistance.


Low Raiding is not an issue to me, just a comparison on how similar it is to Zapping, in the sense that the defender has no chance of winning.

Technically the Poll was universal, you just weren't on the forums for said Poll/ I guarantee you there will be more in the future. Polling doesnt dictate the way the game goes, i agree, but it does3rd party software to stay online still doesn't prevent the 6hr kick so Revenge is always possible. Slim Chances one would get it, but it is still possible.



I too have worked my way up from the lower levels so i too know the struggle, though i am not as far along as you are. I got my Bk at TH8, only cause i Rushed Th7 during the weeklong one gem boost and had gold coming out the wahzoo. I seldom zap anymore, but i do get why people do it and why it happens

Respectfully, a few more points:

The use of the term legitimate in this regard is my own as zapping is obviously permitted in the game and thus legitimate by that standard. I am simply questioning and protesting that legitimacy through target language.

I understand what you mean about DE but at the rate the hero costs continue to evolve, I cannot imagine not being extremely protective of it. Maybe in the Champions...

The possibility of revenge is not a disincentive for zapping, or at least not a singular disincentive, because the possibility of revenge applies to all raids except other revenges. The loot penalty for low raiding is an added disincentive.

I frequently get hit for 1500 de+ by zappers, as I often have a great deal of de saved for massively expensive upgrades, de I earned by raiding with a very effective troops strategy, the same one I have used since th4. Zapping is very much getting something for practically nothing .

Lastly, I can and most definitely do say the tactic is unsportsmanlike. I've even heard zappers admit to that widely accepted interpretation but they do it anyway. Maybe they do it because they figure it will be done to them, so they won't just be a victim. Maybe some do it because they actually believe it is an effective and honorable strategy. Who's to say, but the big irony in this whole debate is that as far as loot to cost ratios are concerned, zapping is not only a dishonorable and boring tactic but a failed and grossly ineffecient one too. Zappers would be far better off devising a good, legitimate troop strategy. ��

Honestly, you seem to be an exception, but far from being noobs, I think most zappers know exactly what they're doing. Noobs don't download software to short circuit smartphone games.

I've failed on many a well upgraded and designed th8. There is certainly a lot more you can do then with zapping. And like I said ... you can learn from it and motivate yourself to upgrade guns/walls or improve base design. No such improvement comes from zapping.

And I was motivated to do so by zapping. Am I the only one? We'll see. On the 3rd party software ... I'm sorry, revenge has become all but impossible. I have no way of knowing when that 6 hr period is up and ppl get attacked so quickly, you've got like a 5 minute window during an 18 hour period essentially. It's effectively impossible.

Ultimately, like Thatsoundsgood said, zapping is a crutch. People who are legitimately in need of de are MUCH better off learning how to get it honestly. That's part of the problem. They don't know what they're missing because zapping prevents them from learning.

Honestly, I haven't zapped in ages, I take what i can using either Gi-Healer, or Loonion. I stopped zapping only cause the spells took forever and the lix was need elsewhere. I agree that zapping does prevent learning, but there is a lesson to be learned from zapping. At some point in time, zappers will be like me and need lix and DE faster than before, and zapping just won't cut it. So they will move on. I have no excuse for Th10s that zap, they do it to p*♥♥ people off, but i do understand where lower levels come from


well technically, i zapped last week to get rid of lit spells for war and why waste a spell when i can profit DE from it....

Lol zapping is honest! It's not like we're not stealing resources from people, how is zapping different? I get zapped all the time, and I zap all the time.

Sigh ... read the whole thread kid. Your question has been addressed multiple times. Find something specific to disagree with. To summarize the most common response, nothing can be done to defend against zapping.

I'll start by saying that zapping isn't an issue for me personally. I never get zapped where I am (TH10 Crystal 3), and if I did, it wouldn't be a big deal anyway, as I'm not planning on getting heroes past level 10 (I'd prefer to have them ready for wars).

That said, I do think that zapping should not have a place in this game. This is a strategy game. Strategy games tend to involve tactics. If you want to call tapping your finger 5 times on a screen tactics, go back to Candy Crush.

I don't agree with the comparison between this and attacking lower levels. Lower levels tend to have a lower town hall level, so you get a loot penatly there. They also have a chance to defend their DE. It may not be completely fair for a TH9 to three star a TH7, but the point is, that TH7 had a chance. When the TH7 upgrades, it will be less vulnerable.

I also think that saying 'it's inefficient' is completely irrelevant. When someone taps their finger 5 times on your DE storage you did everything you could to protect, bypassing all of your defences, I'm not sure why you would care how much they've spent. It doesn't affect you whatsoever.

I also disagree with people saying 'it's a game of stealing, you can't say it's unethical to zap'. Stealing resources with an army involves strategy, and can be defended against. Zapping doesn't, and can't. And whoever said something along the lines of 'it's the same as gemming', please, think a little bit more before your next comment. I really could not care less if people gem. I don't lose any resources when they pay money, which is the reason why we can play for free. It does not affect me, and I do not whine about it. Please enlighten me as to how supporting the game is the same as tapping your finger 5 times on a DE storage.

As I said, I do not get zapped, and atm, I wouldn't mind too much if I did. However, I do think it's unethical to do tap your finger 5 times on a DE storage in a strategy game. It would be more ethical to give them a chance, but I suppose the vast majority of zappers take an 'every man for himself' approach, and have ethics at the bottom of their list of priorities. I don't agree with them, but fair enough.

You're taking what I said out of context. Obviously gemming is different for the reasons you list. My only point was that neither requires any skill. I've gemmed things before and have nothing against people who do it. Would probably have gemmed a lot more if I were single and didn't have a wife getting my credit card statement. That being said, you don't learn how to play the game if you do it excessively ... and the same goes with zapping. That clear it up for you? Perhaps I could've clarified that more at the time, but the comment was made with forethought. Not sure the insult was necessary.

... the insult was suggesting that I don't think before posting and needed some prompting from you to do so. The gemming comment was made in passing while on the subject of the lack of skill required for zapping. Regardless of any virtue that may be associated with gemming, by and large I've found that people view "gemmed bases" as a bad thing and so was trying to draw a corollary to that in regards to zapping. I understand that gemming isn't an exact equivalent in that, for example, it doesn't take resources from others. I indicated my agreement on this in my last post. BUT ... when you happen upon a maxed th10 that's only looted 50 mil gold/elixer ... you can bet that guy is good for zero stars in war. Similarly, someone who has zapped de their entire CoC career will not be as skilled as someone who earned it legitimately. Again, I've dropped a few $$$ for the cause so am not disparaging EVERYONE that has purchased gems ... and am certainly not "whining" about the practice as you also suggested. I'll survive the slight against my posting prudence but am unsure what further info you need on the point I was making.

... and just realized you were dinging me again for being over sensitive. Did I curse or sputter in rage? I thought I made a joke about my wife having me whipped. Not losing any sleep over it bro.
