Zero TH10 vs Six TH10 with 5 infernos

Is that fair?

So, maybe the matchmaking IS fair even though we were matched against someone with 5 infernos when we have none?

Not so sure. The war only just started, so lets see what happens, but I expect us to win. However, I wonder if they had good people behind those bases, would they defeat us? They could donate all those TH10 troops to their bases, making it harder still for us to get stars. We always win with near-max stars. How badly will we be affected I don't know.

Am I happy with the 'fair' matchmaking? Not really. I'd rather face skilled TH9 people than unskilled TH10 people, because it makes it super hard for us to 3-star them cuz we have no freeze spell. I would love to figure out a way to minimize the probability of getting even one inferno in the enemy. How do I get on the other side of this matchup? Perhaps maxing out THs isn't the right approach?

What is really interesting in this matchup, is that our clan is confident we will win. Many other clans on this forum would look at this and start screaming about how OP the opponent is. Well, I'd say its a fair match. And may the best clan win.


N.B. I'm sure its nothing, and I know trophy should have nothing to do with war, but it is a freaky coincidence that we have almost the exact same trophy count.

Alright so infernos are unfair imo but two things to put in perspective i usually look at clan war wins and look through there profiles for stars and there loot they look disorganized and maybe even rushed another thing is your lower levels could be higher then theres I'm not a guy saying matchmaking us completely fair my
last war kind of went into our favor but they had more experience same goes with our current war so lets just see how this goes down

Sometimes life stinks. Just give it your all and see what you can do. Townhall 9s can often 2 star weak townhall 10s. Maybe you could pull out a win and even if you don't just see how well you can do and learn from it.

This thread does literally nothing. Not enough relevant info to even compare the 2 clans, but what we do find is you trying to find middle ground that doesn't exist in the argument for how fair war is.

Matchmaking is unfair, and at this point, nothing helpful is coming from any of these threads. We don't have enough info to say your matchup is fair/unfair, and technically speaking, neither do you.

I had pretty much the same thing but we had rushers. They would have level eight archer towers at th9 and also have an xbow attracting clans with xbows it wasn't pretty...

My point is that to us, within the clan, it feels like a fair fight, whereas at the outlook it seems like a very unfair fight. I personally found that ironic, and for me it seems to vilify the current matchmaking system. Something about it seems to be ok, albeit not in the way I am hoping or expecting.

My point is that to us, within the prison system, it feels like stealing is ok, whereas the outlook it seems like a very wrong thing to do. I personally found that ironic, and for me it seems to villify thieves. Something about it seems ok, albeit everyone else actually realizes thievery is wrong.

Youre bound to run into another war clan or better clan. Do you think it will always be random farming or inactive clans? Pff you deserved to lose when you boast undefeated when your clan is th 5-10 preemies and go agaisnt nonwar clans mostly.

iam a th9 and i 3 starred a th10 ,
the inferno op but the base design and the time you have to plan the attack is fair
i make special army for each raid , not fixed troops compo

my compo mainly depends on the inferno (single or disco) and how far the inferno from the walls.
good designed th10 op for th9s even if they rushed you may 1 star them , but the second and 3rd very hard

Deal with it. We are always outmatched 7 TH10s to 1 TH 10. Find TH9s that can 2 star the Th10s and you'll be fine. As for the TH 10 troops being donated well it doesn't make much of a difference compared to your regular TH 9 troops.

so you've gone against max TH10 bases numerous times and you've never lost. now you have 2 fairly new TH9s, you're matched up against max TH10 bases again, and your clan is close to quitting clan wars?

are you quitting because you're tired of winning every time? or because you feel like having 2 fairly new TH9s suddenly makes everything so unfair? did you expect to win every clan war?

Supercell needs to rebalance the TH10 matchmaking system. TH9 has a very slim chance of obtaining 3 Stars against TH10 with Inferno Towers. While TH10 has a much higher chance of 3-Starring TH9's. TH10 has higher tier of troops plus additional Spell Placement. This alone is already a mismatch in attack. Added with Inferno Towers on Defense then its a no brainer who has the advantage.

Good luck. Not that you need it because the clan is probably full of inactive players and/or bad attackers.

No ♥♥♥♥ you guys are confident you will win. I have never seen a premie th10 in my life that was a remotely good attacker. You guys at th9 have even more camp space than most of their th10's. Most people see infernos and they automatically think they lose. A th9 can two star a lot of th10s just fine. It's just that this forum is flooded with bad players.

The good news is, we were able to 3-star one of the inferno-containing TH10 bases :).

But that was the easiest of the inferno bases since the inferno was pretty hoggable. Let's hope we can 3-star some more of them.

That was a horrible, horrible base.

We won this, 115-22.

115/120 stars. They had 6 TH10 with 5 Infernos. We had no TH10s. Even if they didn't suck at attacking, we were able to rack up 115/120 stars. Even if they were super awesome players that beat us, it would have still have been close in the worst case.

So, I think all those that complain about being matched with higher THs, I think it is very clear that the TH difference is irrelevant to your capacity to win or lose. The SuperCell matchmaking takes it all into account, including the fact that they have 5 infernos and we have none, and is able to produce a match that we were able to get 115/120 stars on. We could have gotten more actually; one of the inferno bases was 2-starred at 98% for example. I really believe it is about the skill and activity of the players that determines who wins, not the SuperCell matchmaking algorithm in and of itself. The algorithm itself, in my opinion, is good enough. Sure I'd like it to see improvements, but at least it matches clans that each have the potential to beat the other.

Will this, then, put a nail in the coffin of this discussion?

Good job on the almost perfect score. It's obvious to the good players that skill will overcome most of the odds thrown at you in clan wars. The loud obnoxious people who complain most likely are terrible raiders. But I guess we just have to listen to them complain until supercell creates npc wars on easy mode so that they can get easy wins since that seems to be what they prefer.

So the OP's faction beat them even with disadvantage in infernos. What was he complaining about again?

OK fair enough:D. On first read, this does sound like yet another complaint thread about mis-matches.

For me, I always bring the best army I can field, whether its raging dragon spam for low level ADs or gowipe, no matter the outcome of the war or apparent "fairness".

This is not a valid point because the opponent attacking ability is less than yours. For fair comparison, you must assume all attacking ability is the same for all players.
For Ex: Our clan has 6 TH9 Lvl 90-100, opponent has 6 TH10 Lvl 90-100. Assuming all attacking ability is level for all the players. For higher level TH10's with additional inferno towers the TH9 attackers have a very slim chance of 3-starring TH10's. However, on the opponent side the TH10's have a much higher chance of 3-starring TH9's. All supercell needs to change is factor in the inferno towers as a separate algorithm for matchmaking. This would be fair for all.
