Is anyone a TH 10 and didn't purchase gems? The game seems so slow in the TH7 and TH8 range, I can see why people purchase the gems. And yeah, I also get the point that if you're a fan of the game, it's a good idea to buy some to support Supercell. The game wouldn't exist without people paying them. But I'm wondering if anyone does get to TH9 or TH10 without ever purchasing any.
I'm sure a few have, but I wouldn't say many (in terms of never purchasing gems).
Pretty sure near everyone has purchased a few at least in their course of going up to hall 10. Of course, the amount they spend varies. Some gem a lot and some very little.
I got pretty sick of some waiting times when I was a TH8/9, so I gemmed time every once in awhile...but never resources really.
To answer your question, yes there are. There's a guy in our clan that absolutely hates people who have gem'd their royals to 40 and crush his base - the guy I'm referring to has a th10... he has 2 air defense left to upgrade, and everything else is fully maxed. Royals are 16/15 (king/queen), and has lego walls.Quote:

When I was a premmie TH9, I spent $15 for my AQ and BK. But, aside from that I haven't purchased any. It's possible, but takes a while to progress (obviously).
I know of 2 and they started playing day one so wer premie tens but now all maxed defs an the normal working on walls n heroes ,walls are Legos n lavas no a cent spent. But they also have other accounts that they did properly as well not rushing and are maxed th8 early th9
I'm fairly certain that 99% of all higher-up TH10's have purchased gems. But like someone said before, some very little, some a lot. There is, however, a TH10 guy that has purchased (if I'm not mistaken) only his builders [Approx. $50]
He's actually made a very extensive DE Farming guide on the forums, here's the link. His IGN is Brandon and I believe he's in a clan entitled Empire-X. He has a 2b Gold Grab and was the first person to farm and not gem his Heroes to level 40.

I think you'll find there are plenty of TH10 who have purchased very few if any gems. For example I started playing in Jan 2013, have now maxed all my defenses, got to 3300 cups and (slowly) rising, and have only spent a few $ getting 5 builder huts back when I was TH7/TH8 (in retrospect, 4 builders would have been plenty), plus a few $ to boost stuff one weekend when I had a free weekend and felt like playing a few hours straight with no waiting... I didn't even need to gem anything to get to Champs - just have a solid plan, and be patient. And I'm by no means a hard-core farmer btw, I mostly do a raid or two in the morning, maybe a couple of hours in the evening - only occasionally have I ever played during the day.
Once you get towards the end of TH8, and definitely towards the end of TH9, you need to adapt to the slower pace of the game, staggering your builders, and sitting on a bit of loot from time to time. If you can handle that, it's just a matter of plugging away, and you get there eventually. If you can't / don't want to adjust to the different pace, well I guess you start spending money on gems... gems are not evil, they are just a way to speed things up - purely optional.
Look... I play around 6 months ( half year ) .... Im lvl 87 and th9 and its really funny because i got 824 gems ( 4 builders), and i got them in 2 weeks with achievements, but i never been in master legaue yet so if i go in master i have 5th builder.... Without gems the game is great u dont need to spend money for game, why? Better that you buy something for real life not a gems..... Just play 4 fun and the game will be great..... And if you play 3 hours per day minimum in one year u will be maxed th9 or even in the start of th10( maybe on the middle of th 10 ).... WITHOUT GEMS!
