Yet Another Loot Thread - With Suggestion

I know these threads are getting old, but I've noticed that loot's been tougher for me since the 1 gem event. I think it's even worse than before that point. I'm BAM-farming black walls at TH8, and I feel like I hit next for nearly 10 mins more and more often to find a base with 100k gold that I can get in Gold 2.

Now, maybe Gold 2 isn't the place for me. I'd love to try a beefier army, but the build times are a lot longer. A 30-gem 8x training boost is definitely something I'd go for, but it probably won't happen.

I see a LOT of premie bases in Gold 2. I really think it'd be good for the game if it was required for folks to max their collectors before moving up in TH level. It's a pain every time I see a gold walled premie TH10 sitting with full L5 collectors that I have to next on because they've only got 60k gold.

It'd be cool if either of those happened, but until then, I'm open to suggestions. Any TH8's having luck? What league?

That might help the problem somewhat. But I think it would also help if supercell cut down on the long buildtimes required to upgrade gold/elixir collectors. Most people don't want one out of three, maybe four builders tied up with something that seems both menial and trivial. They have defenses to upgrade, and any future revenue lost by opting not to upgrade collectors can be made back through raiding.

I think walls are a big issue with loot. "I have 1 million gold left after my upgrade? Well, might as well dump it on walls." This just results in almost ZERO storage raids, unless you catch somebody that doesn't have a free builder available, and thus can't dump loot on walls, but they probably have a shield because they are a farmer.

Drop down to Gold III. Dark Elixir won't be as prominent but you'll find easy Barch-able TH7's with 150k-200k of each resource and the occasional abandoned collector base.

Hit 1 th lower than you. Farming troops can't reliably take loot from storages of bases at their own level. People say to use rage/heal but waiting 2 hours for spells make that not a viable solution.. Especially in a higher trophy range it gets tough to hold onto loot. Same goes for balloons, wizards and etc, too long of training time.. Much better to hit TH7 for 150k+

Maxing collector? Hell no! I'm going to TH9 with level 3-6 pumps :)

If they decrease the time I would of wasted a lot of time

th 10 inactives with 60k gold? I am a th9 and I take those raids all the time. I use only a few troops so i can raid again, easy. 60 k plus loot bonus is not bad

If you're tired of hitting "NEXT", then I say grind it out. Go use 5k of elixir troops and pull in 30-50k of resources. Takes longer, but we're here to *play the game, no?

That's about where I'm at, tbh - it's always fun to get a big haul, but that's just not happening right now. It would actually be better if I were in C3/2 doing that rather than G2, bc the win bonus would at least be worth something.

1300-1800 is a wide range, and sometimes it just depends on the luck of the draw. I find tons of collector raids all through the gold range, and crystal 3/2 is great for de....really just depends.

Though I did find a 1.2m raid in the low 1800's earlier today. Hall 10 with full pumps and pretty full storages. Don't see those very often, but 200K+ each are pretty regular for me.

It's been 3 days, since I arrived at TH8 from a maxed TH7 (completely maxed), and I've found farming at TH8 to be an altogether different ballgame than at TH7.

Till now, I've tried farming in early Gold 3 with no luck. Then I dropped down to Silver 2, trying out all trophy ranges in between, without any success :(
I simply can't seem to find collector rich bases... Which were aplenty while farming at TH7.

Btw, my army composition for farming is :
6-8 Giants, 4-7 wallbreakers and rest archers
I don't like using barbs, since they aren't primarily attracted to defense buildings, unlike the gaints.

I read somewhere today, where someone had suggested farming above 1450 trophy range for TH8. I reckon I will try that as well and report back.

Any other suggestions for trophy ranges??
Or army compositions??

You'll primarily be farming TH7 at early TH8. GHealer works well on TH7 bc there's only 2 ADs, and you can usually breach and get 1 down quickly. Barching gets a lot easier with L5 troops.

12 Giants, 2 Healers, 10-15 Barbs, 10-15 Goblins, 8 Wallbreakers, rest archers (1 each of rage, healing, lightning for spells).

When I moved up to TH8 farming, I went with 14-16 Giants because you'll lose them to traps. One healer has trouble keeping your meatshield alive, 3 healers means you sacrifice too much damage. Two is the sweet spot. I think I slummed around in silver 1 & 2 in the beginning of TH8. Wizards are always preferable over archers, but the build time and the cost meant I didn't use them much in the beginning of TH8.

I use healing when I have to dive deeper to snuff out an AD. Lightning is usually only for countering CC troops, but you should always be able to bait them at TH7. Rage is for when I need to get through a buch of overlapping defenses quickly.

Majority of resources in the game are created from collectors, rather than war / league bonuses. If you have a lot of folks running premie collectors, the loot distribution thins out considerably. It gets too out of w♥♥♥♥ and you have a QoL issue. There are more reasons for having high level collectors than to make easier Barching targets.

Only reason most folks don't max their collectors is so they don't become bigger targets - so pick your poison - you've got the premies who won't upgrade their collectors because they're scared of being a target, or the farmers who want them maxed so we can all have bigger raids.

I found great loot today at 1100-1400. Yet loot moves around so gold 2 is a nice place to be but try farming at silver 1.

not having any issues with loot. but i dont barch. change your army comp to something other then barch then storage raids wont be as much of an issue

Thats just so wrong. I dont know how is your concept here, but most people doesnt max their collectors simply because they have better things to upgrade using limited builder.

Why max collector become bigger target? I dont get it. Do you not collect your loots frequently?
