Yeah most likely
As much as I'd like an Opt-in/out, I can see the flaws that will result in it. I can see how it can be exploited, especially from top clans who are typically full or have never had less than 45 man wars.
Imagine if Kings Rock cherry picked their top 10 best fighters and started a war. With the terrible mismatching in CW, I can only cringe at the thought of who they could possibly get matched with.
That's sort of how wars work. People get matched up based on their bases, not their skills and I don't see a problem with sending out the elites to fight. It probably won't happen too often to this degree since other people would want to fight and start a riot... which could be a reason against opt out but I don't think that there would be that extreme dictatorship in a clan. Or the people could simply leave if they want to war but can't
Or the opposite. A clan takes their bottom 10 players so they get matched with easy 10 man wars just to pad their CW win stats.
Nothing wrong with padding scores. Like Levels, they don't have any real effect anyways
Or how about a clan of 30 people but 15 are constantly opting out? They never get any good matches and half their clan doesn't even participate.
I disagree that war size is what makes matches good. Also, why does it matter if they don't participate? War is just one dimension of the game
Or the clan that has their real good players opting out, leaving them with Premies and Lowbies to fend for themselves in unbalanced matched wars?
Clans are matched according to their clan strength so how would it be unbalanced (for the lowbie part at least)? If anything, they have the advantage since the really good players t give them troops. For the premie part, I don't know how the premie factor affects the clan strength because rush town halls might not matter too much depending on how the match making system works
Or how about a clan with 20 people that have 11 people opt out? No clan wars for them.
Why would 11 people opt out? The main reason people would opt out is to not hurt their clanmates in war so there is no good reason if it causes them to be unable to war. Besides, they could just recruit a random person and start a war if needed. Yeah it might end up being an inactive/hopper but this doesn't make the situation any worse than it was before so it's not a real negative part of opt out
I forgot which Mod or SC Staff said it but I understand the sentiment.
It's called "CLAN WARS" not "Certain people in the Clan Wars".
When a CLAN goes to war, everyone must fight, everyone must sacrifice... some may fail, some may perish, but everyone MUST fight. The survival of your clan depends on it. If you can't depend on your fellow clans mate at a time of war, do you deserve to win?
Twister said it according to coathanger I believe. Anyways, it's not like everyone fights in a war. I don't see how sitting out makes you not part of the team. In sports, there are benched players who don't participate always (yeah I know that they can sub in though). In war, there are also people on sick leave and people who work to help the combatants but aren't attacking themselves. No one would say that they aren't part of the military so I don't see why everyone in a clan needs to be an attacker too
Also, based on what twister said, I feel like he doesn't like people leaving and returning after war is found too but they can't stop that issue so they leave it alone
This is coming from someone who've lost quiet a few wars. We've actually put ourselves on Hiatus from war to allow everyone to farm to strengthen themselves and their armies so we can become better War Machines.
