Pingfao's Tesla Theme Park [Revamped] - A TH8 Design

Pingfao's design is indeed awesome! However, I keep noticing this one odd mistake with it. Thought it would have been figured out by now. It's about the funneling.

There are 4 compartments created for funneling. All 4 have a collector inside. Move the collectors outside. Why, you ask? Well because the funneling and trap placement is really obvious. If an attacker is somewhat good at this game, he will just send in couple of goblins to spring the traps.

Since goblins go for resources, they will go for your funneling compartment and effectively take out your traps. If you don't have a resource of any kind in your funnelding compartment, their goblins won't go there.

You have a valid point there, but honestly now, really how many players check for spring traps like this? :rolleyes: If I where to encounter someone using it I would for sure know how to deal with. :D

Haha very good question. I know I always spring traps like that.

You are right though, probably still works because to few players know about it. But if someone is smart enough and knows it he can easily crack this base if they have collectors there. (well mayby not easily, but easier)

Either, it's still probably better idea to move collectors out.

It's a good way to spring traps, but I have not seen it happen with this base. Might be a case of fixing a theoretical problem that does not exist in reality.

I have used Pingfao's design as well. Happened to me a couple of times. After that I changed it. No harm in changing it anyway. It's only for the better.

Same as BBM. Didn't find his design to be particularly strong. :P Farming armies were able to get one star + both my gold storages

And this is why I no longer use this base. Thanks for posting this. I love seeing pings ttp when i farm cause i can easily lure CC and activate traps before i deploy my farming army. If you're an experience player, it is easy to spot traps if there's funneling. Pings base is really good.. But knowing every aspect of it when you're raiding pings ttp, easy resources.

Only TH9 and TH10 are able to break the defense, and even then they need to invest heavily in spells, either 2 or more rage spells, or 4 lightning spells to take out the mortars.

The other that "get through" are those annoying DE lightning thieves.... :mad:

Looks great! Thanks for the feedback. Lightning thieves do get quite annoying, especially when your defenses are high level, thus, your base stays in the queue longer. :p

This has been a hot topic in DTP lately, since a lot of our TH8 players are facing the same dilemma. I personally suggested them to go ahead and upgrade to TH9 for 2 reasons:

1. If you are that efficient at TH8 farming, you won't have much trouble at TH9.
2. Not being able to dump excessive Golds on walls between upgrades really hinders your farming progress.

That is a good suggestion. It has crossed my mind before, but is such a minor efficiency aspect, so I left it for the users to decide for themselves. My logic behind placing the Collectors there as opposed to Barracks, Spell Factors, Heroes plates, etc., is their Hitpoints. At higher levels, Collectors have higher Hitpoints than other miscellaneous buildings. Positioning them closer gives your defenses a tiny bit more amount of time. Again, it is a very minor efficiency aspect that can/should be decided by the user based on their own playstyle.

There seems to be a small trend of people claiming that they know the design so well that it's not effective anymore. Quite irritating, especially when they have no substantial nor even any backing-up evidence for such claim. Knowing is only half the battle. Frankly, Jacey, I'm not hesitant to call your "easy resources" bluff. I took a shot at a replica awhile back. Honestly, it was not the greatest raid I've ever done. However, I am confident enough to say that it was an average raid from a maxed TH8 farming army, which did not yield the desired result.

Just to be clear, I don't mean to claim that this design cannot be beaten. I am aware that there are some screenshots and videos of its defeats floating around, but vs. how many successful defenses? ;)
