I have recently gotten hogs to three and was wondering at what point a mass hog attack would be on a TH 8 in clan wars. I heard that until a high level hogs were not that great to use in mass. Also what do i look for in a base to attack with hogs. I usually attack with golems and wizards but the three star is elusive to me so im lookin for a three star and thought maybe its time to attack diff bases with hogs.
Mass-hogs isn't a good strategy until they are at least lvl 4.
I've three-starred TH8's with all level one hogs before. Now if it were a smart ant-hog base, I probably wouldn't have gotten any stars.
It's pretty simple really, it all comes down to the giant bombs. That's what will do hogs in at the TH8 level. You have to look for spots were those could be hidden. Usually that triangular space with nothing in it means that there is either a Tesla or a giant bomb in there. Look for bases that are compact and have no empty spaces where bombs could be hiding. At level hog, a Giant bomb can cook a hole giant group of hogs no problem and end the attack right on the spot. A good anti-hog base places a giant bomb between two defense structures, because it is known that the hogs will spend time there destroying those, and when they do, they get cooked.

I've 3 starred Max TH8s with lvl 1 hogs. It also helps to scout for giant bombs by using 2 or 3 hogs.Quote:
