Is there any actual reason to put your TH inside?

As a Th10 I find much better loot in Masters, so I keep my TH inside to keep my cups up as I just log off casually after raids. I'd have to play longer sessions to maintain this cup range with my TH outside so its simply more convenient to tuck it in and log off while the next army cooks. I don't get attacked much even when my loot is towards the cap and most of those are just blown revenges from gemmers.

During boost week I was actually upgrading both infernos so had my TH outside and my looting was actually worse than usual as I fell down to about 2300 cups and was sucked up in the nexting vortex.

While there certainly are some defensive losses, its quite a bit less than what I gain by having casual access to M3 bases/league bonus (plus, cups can be monetized rather nicely in M3 as if you're willing to dump 20 trophies you can turn that into loot easily so defensive wins are like a line of credit for profitable kamikaze attacks where you're not trying to win).

However, I do generally put my TH outside overnight as a full 8 hours offline would make the odds high of their being a serious attack and getting sniped once a day isn't much of a damper on my farming range.

I put my TH back outside last night as I didn't want people touching my DE - and I got sniped. Phew.

When I have left my TH inside in Crystal 3 / low crystal 2 I have won trophies. However as the first attack has stunned my hero's, set off my bombs and sprung my traps I tend to lose a lot of resources - particularly DE - even if i win the second attack.

And besides, its nice waking up in the morning and seeing defenses rather than TH Snipes.

For th10's

Under 2400 cups no one attacks you anyway so it doesn't make much difference either way.

2400-3200 cups you will get a lot of defensive wins if you protect it, when I hit champs this time round i went to sleep at 3150 and woke in the morning in champs. For most of us who don't stay online for hours at a time up to 2950 you can often log off for a few hours and not get attacked.

After 3200 defensive wins don't really happen, if you wake your heroes before logging off you can get lucky but still very rare. An exposed th can save you resources if someone snipes you but my experience from having exposed an exposed th in champs is people will usually take the th and carry on for the second star anyway. This means you start getting 2 stared by ballon and Barch armies.

Who cares, its not your business to tell how people should play.

For efficiency's sake, no reason unless you are pushing.

For fun's sake, whatever floats your boat.

Very little reason unless you are trophy pushing imo.

You underestimate how bad people are at attacking.

Having your TH inside in lower leagues means free trophies, even if you are a low level TH.

But who cares about trophies in lower leagues? I mean maybe do the odd trophy push once in a while just to break up the monotony of farming, but the only people consistently bothered about trophies tend to be the guys right at the beginning of the game who haven't cottoned on and then the truly high level guys maxing th10.

Simple. When one is in Crystal and wants to stay in Crystal for clan purposes, you probably won't get attacked between raids if you don't have much loot, but with a TH exposed you can count on -5 to -10 trophies between every raid. It's just an inconvenience.

TH8 and below - no point in having an inside TH at any level. If you are farming in gold, people can snipe you and leave you with a shield, and if you're pushing in masters or champs you can get sniped instead of getting 3 starred every time.

TH9 and above - you can defend decently, though if you're TH9 in M1 or higher no point in having inside TH, you get 3 starred every time.
