Spamming any unit does not require skill. Why mention dragons in particular?
Drop your spells at the right area and drop your dragons at the right area, that's all the skill you will need.
In conclusion, you need about 2%.
You need skills. That's for sure.
It takes skill. Especially for 3 stars. People that say its easy must not be playing against smart opponents. And lucky them. Dragons are easy in that You never even have to lure :) but their high cost is what you pay for a better chance at victory. They are actually a bit harder to use because they take up so much more housing space so how many you deploy to one area or how thin you spread them can be the difference in a solid victory. All in all dragons are a solid choice and among the easier attack strategies if you're only goal is to not lose. Also, Id congratulate any three star. Three stars win wars!!
That's the key. Max AD for TH8 is 6. You use dragon to 3* a lv 4AD TH8 is like saying I'm using "any kind of land troops combination- insert here" to 3* a TH8 with lv4 Mortar, lv 8 Canon, lv 4 wz and lv 6 wall.
dragon raid is hard. Yes, I'm saying it. You can call me noobs or whatever you feel like. It's easy to get 1*. Sometime it's easy to get 2*, too. But 3* and above is a real work.
- 3* Th7 with dragon- doesn't count. If you are TH8 and above, you can 3* any TH7 with any kind of strategy anyway
- 3* TH8 with dragon: required a lot of work if you are TH7 & TH8.You have to choose the base carefully. You have to know where to drop your dragon. You have to know how to make the dragon go down to the middle. You have to use your spell wisely. If you are TH9, it's easier for you because of 4 spell and 1 extra dragon. However, you have many ways of 3* Th8 if you are TH9 anyway.
- 3* Th9: Almost impossible. You have to do some REAL works here, and have a lot of luck. Actually, dragon attack would be harder and riskier than gowipe and gowiwi when you attack TH9
-3* TH10: be my guest. Do it if you can
Now, let's make some comparison between Dragon attack and gowiwi & gowipe attack that people love so much:
1. Choose the base:
- Both strategy require choosing the base. Any strategy require choosing the base carefully. However, I truly believe you have to choose the base a little wiser with dragon attack.
2. Lure clan castle:
- Both doesn't require luring the clan castle.
3. Deloy troops:
- Both require clearing the outside building so your wz, pe, wi, dragon go down the middle. Both need to know when & where to deploy your troops.
4. Drop spell:
- Both need to choose the right time to drop spell. drop it wrong, u r dead
5. Risk and result:
- Dragon almost guarantee 2* Th8 and below. You can 3* TH8, not always though. You can 2* TH9, not always though. VERY hard to 3* TH9. You can 2* TH10, but VERY hard. It's IMPOSSIBLE to 3* TH10
- Gowipe & Gowiwi: guarantee 3* TH8 and below. Guarantee 2* TH9. Decent lv of difficult to 3* TH9. Guarantee 1* Th10 and can 2* TH10 without a lot of trouble. Hard to 3* TH10
*The comparison based on the assumption that you max your troops and you attack base that have the same TH lv with you.
So can you tell me why gowipe & gowiwi required skills, and dragons do not???
Well it depends on how good you want to be with it. Obviously you can be better at it than others. Anybody who says that just dropping them all in one spot with no thought is the same thing as a skilled dragoner laying out his dragons and spells with a purpose, is an idiot
I regularly three star th9's as a th8 with my level three dragons and level five rage spells, if anybody thinks they can do the same just by dropping them all in one place, again, idiot.
- Drags do take planning and "mapping". I always try to make an educated guess as to where my drags will go. (from which building to which building).
- Spells have to be planned and placed patiently.
- an L formation around the corner so the drags come together
Yeah drags take some skill!
They're also my favorite!
I wouldn't say they take no skill but they are definitely the easiest to execute.
Like someone mentioned, it takes 10% skill and 90% common sense which I kinda agree with.
You need to know how to deploy, how to spread your dragons so that most of your dragon will reach the core instead of drifting to the sides. Next is just spell placement, when to rage and when to freeze, they are all pretty much common sense. Also even when executed poorly, dragon is still almost guaranteed a 1 star.
The guy who mentioned Jorge Yao, do not give him too much credit. His reign with dragons was mainly during the period when there were only 3 AD for TH9.
Also Hogs takes way more skill than dragons. There are lots of anti hogs design and also need to lure and kill cc troops unlike dragons attack which do not need to worry about cc and in fact uses the cc troops to get into the core.
Hog is also a more risky strategy, a failed hog attack is usually 0 star unlike dragons attack.
Most drag attacks the guy just spams them and uses rages as needed. When used this way it take just as much skill as using the old hogs... Not much.
Yes and no. When your a th8 attacking th9s it takes skill. Not much. But knowing where to deploy troops and deploy spells is vital. Besides that, my 5 yearold cousin could dragon attack anyone.
