I told him people said loot sucks at TH10, and it won't be fun for him getting destroyed and all, but yeah, he's still upgrading because he "spent a month saving 4 the upgrade".

Just laugh at him when that's pretty much as far as he'll get in the game as you blaze on by him. Premie players don't have the discipline or smarts to play this game past a certain point anyways.

There's nothing he really can do I guess, he can struggle for a couple weeks before quitting the game

Why is your friend's laboratory in the center of his base?

OMG OMG OMG we MUST protect the laboratory! We couldn't possibly let it get destroyed!! Quick, move the clan castle out of the center, because the laboratory HAS to be in the center!!!

Seriously, you need to tell your friend to move his lab outside the walls. No reason for it to be in the center.

The OP's friend is doing a "secret" upgrade in his lab. It needs to be protected to avoid leaking.
