Staying on TH7 or moving on to 8?

Hi all

This is my first post so much appreciated with your assistance.

I'm enjoying my TH7 base at present with my progress about 60% through upgrading most things, attack troops for the most part are done (aka dragons & barchers etc) and Barbarian king is lvl 3.

But I notice that TH7 is easily thrashed by a simple Dragon spam attack during wars, thanks to not having that extra air defense.

I'm wondering whether most people just bypass TH7 normally and move to 8 to get their hands on better attacking troops and also so they dont get smashed by TH 7 attacks so easily?

TH9 and 10 that's something else all together so I don't care if I get taken out by them

Take your time. If you aren't mostly done with your defenses/walls, don't move up. You'd just look like a "premie" as people call it. Take it slow, work your way up to it. That's what I did and I don't regret it at all. Plus, TH7 is the best farming Town Hall because of the loot bonus.

Im sure this has been answered a million times but what would be the best trophy range for farming with my town hall being level 7?

Th 7 was the funnest TH in my opinion. There is often a lot of loot which gives you a chance to easily upgrade things. I maxed almost every building (with a few exceptions) as well as my walls. I don't think this TH should be rushed. Occasionally you do get destroyed by bigger troops but its No Reason to upgrade prematurely :)

I personally liked 1300 (fluctuated slightly)

Stay at Th7 and max. Contrary to popular belief pushing into next TH to get critical features is never ending ladder. Raiding isn't magically better either its worse as you climb as well. Try your best to get walls close to max.

Generally speaking, purple walls (level 7) generally distinguish your base from being a premie and well developed. Also, it takes two wall breakers to destroy a level 7 wall, but only 1 to destroy a level 6.

When I was TH7 I maxed everything but my BK and Minion Upgrade because DE was hard to find for me at TH7. I was able to catch up on my BK and DE Lab upgrades no problem with the upgraded troops and a drill at TH8.

When i was TH7 i stayed between 1200- 1400 trophies

You will see a lot off people who skipped TH 7 for the reason you said and because the level 5 troops are so much better. I didn't rush my TH 7 but I know two people who skipped it and they are much more upgraded than I am now.

The purple walls are nice but those gold canons are more intimidating.
