Seeking Advice for TH8 attack strategy

Hi,

I must admit I am not successful attacking someone at same level with me.

I am at TH8, all elixir troops at current level max, except pekka which I am upgrading to level3. All dark troops at level 1. I have problem getting DE so now only focusing upgrading BK.

Currently, I am using dragons to fight bases with weak AD. However, this is getting a bit boring to me. Could the seniors here advise me alternative attack strategy with my current troop level? I plan to upgrade my hog to level 2 after the pekka upgrade, about 6 days away.

Do I have a chance to 3star a near max TH8 or even a decent early stage TH9?

GOWIPE can definitely 3 star maxed TH8 and premie TH9.

Yeah I agree with coltonspoppa. I use GoWiPe very often for clan wars. With some experience you'll be able to 2 star any TH 8 base and a lot of the time, even a 3 star. Especially with level 2 PEKKA, you'll do work but I think you should get some practice with the strategy on matchmaking, then go into war with it once you understand the strategy. If you're interested tell me and I'll tell you my composition and spells :)

GoWiPe doesn't 3 star every th8, it's all skill with this strat.

2 Rage (3 Rage also viable)
1 Heal

EDIT: Thumper, I said it often 3 stars them, not meaning every time nor every Town Hall 8 base, and with a lot of skill you SHOULD be able to 3 star a lot of TH 8s

This is for all of you th8's who want something fresh to do in clan wars.
I am assuming that you have 200 army slots.
This is how to make a perfect th8 GoWiPe souffle

Ingredients - 2 Golems
2 P.E.K.K.A's
10 Wallbreakers
15 Wizards
10 Barbarians
Clan Castle (Preferably Witch or Wizard flavor)
Burger King (Lvl 5+)

Equipment - 1 lightening spell
2 Rage spells

Step 1) Lure out the clan castle with the barbarians. Then put down your lightening spell, if a high health unit comes out (Golem, PEKKA, Dragon etc.) Then deploy your Barbs, Burger King, Clan castle, in that order.

Step 2) Put down your Golems, one on 2 sides that are adjacent to each other.

Step 3) Deploy your Wallbreakers in sets of 2

Step 4) Buy a Llama

Step 5) Deploy your wizards, make sure to spread them out.

Yep, because pekkas ruin gowipe when they go around the base. So if he doesn't know how to use it, bam, 1 star with gowipe on an easy base. That is why I said it's SOMETIMES better to go with something else or whatever which will probably get you 2 stars or 3 anyway.

So then why would you quote me and say that? You ended up sharing the same attack strategy. Your argument is invalid. Please leave me alone.

I also use GoWiPe in CW. But I think the OP should 'train' in CW, not matchmaking. Here's a few reasons why:

- War Bases are quite different to bases found in matchmaking
- GoWiPe is not too hard to get the hang of, so maybe after 1 CW, the OP might be able to get some good result with GoWiPe. Maybe even in the first CW.
- If you practice in CW there is no opportunity for revenge, as it is likely to actually get good practice is you will need to attack a decent base

That is a good point, but I know that if I failed in my clan war my clan mates would be a little disappointed but it depends on how quickly the OP will get to understand the strategy. But I know that from my personal experience, it took me a couple of attacks to get to know the strategy. But your arguments are completely understandable. :)

It's possible to find very good bases to attack with gowipe in matchmaking Spellmaster, revenge is little to nothing to worry about, you will get attacked regardless :rolleyes:

I understand that some clans do take CW seriously and would be unhappy if people mucked up attacks. What the OP does will depend somewhat on his clan :).

What do YOU mean by a good base though? If I'm learning GoWiPe I want to find a base that is actually challenging so that I can see the limits of the strat and practice against stronger bases. Also I was inferring that by attacking decently upgraded bases the players will be strong, and therefore would be able smash you on revenge. I guess I am a little revenge paranoid since I have maxed storages and 50k DE atm :rolleyes:.

I guess it depends in what league you are :p I find bases with cc troops and tough layouts all the time :eek:

I also learn by my clanmates & their replays, (best clan in the game :rolleyes:) but yep matchmaking does have tough bases, but some of these don't have the best loot.
