Our clan -vs- a mass dragon clan, summary of their attacks

We just faced a really good clan, 25 wins, they came to win, they played well, we were fortunate enough to prevail. I have to say it was one of our funnest wars and these guys look like a really fun clan, they used some unusual and interesting attacks. Like hogging our TH6, and drag/valking one of our TH7s. Good game ladies & gents.

This isn't posted to say how great our bases are, they probably aren't at all. But they aren't bad. Its just to express my view that dragons aren't this all powerful all conquering thing that distorts clan wars beyond recognition.

Their mass dragon attacks, in order, were:

1. 9 level 2 drags (plus 5 wiz and the clan castle) + spells against a nicely set up mid/upper level th7.
result: completely overran him for 3 stars

2. 7 lvl 2 drags 20 wiz 3 spells against a newer th7
result: completely overran him for 3 stars

(at this point I was worried)

3. 10 lvl 1 drags plus spells n clan castle against a new/mid level th7
result: 1 star, drags ran around the base and one remaining air D killed them all

4. 8 lvl 2 drags, 3 rage, 10 wiz against a new/mid th8
result: 2 stars

5. 7 lvl 2 drags, 20 wiz against the same guy from #3
result: 1 star, drags almost got the th

6. 7 lvl 2 drags, 3 rage, 9 wiz, 3 wall breakrs and a king
result: 1 star

7. 8 lvl 2 drags, 3 lightning to take out one of the 2 air D's, 8 hogs to try to get to the second, against an advanced TH7
result: 1 star (the clan troops killed the hogs)
This was a brilliant attack, just forgot to lure the clan troops

8. 7 lvl 3 drags 16 giants 4 spells and heroes against a new/mid TH9
result: 1 star

9. 11 lvl 3 drags and 4 spells against a near max th8 (me!)
result: 1 star

10. 10 lvl 2 drags and 3 spells against the TH9 from #8
result: 1 star

11. 7 lvl 2 drags, 10 giants, 8 wall breakers, 14 goblins and heroes and 3 lightning to kill one air D against an advanced TH8
result: no stars

I realize those aren't all technically pure mass dragon attacks. But here's the stats:

Attacks against TH9s: 2
Average stars: 1

Attacks against TH8s: 4
Average stars: 1

Attacks against TH7s: 5
Average stars: 2

Just FYI

We used 3 mass drag attacks, or drag/minion. One was 0 stars against a TH9, one was 3 stars against the same TH9, one was 3 against a TH7.

generally mass dragon and 3 lightnings on a th7 take it out. even using the drop n pray method.

on th8 it becomes more complicated. to have nay chance ud have to funnel them and even then ud prob need lvl 3 drags. best strategy is 3 lightnings and hodrag method. (the number 7 attack that u listed I believe, just with dragons taking out the cc)

on th9, u wont get a 3 star.

on th10...if the air d is very spread out u can get a 2 star if u execute well.

Very poor execution from the opponent, or "unskilled".

In our last war, there was a TH 10 with 5 spells (3 lightning 2 heal), 12 level 4 dragons and 25 CC space, he only got 1 star on a TH 8 with level 5-6 ADs, not even close to get the second star.

Another attack from a TH 8 with 3 spell (2 heal 1 rage), 8 level 3 dragons, 8 level 5 balloons and 25 CC space, he got 3 stars with breeze.

The enemy base was a very loose base that covers large area with TH at the center and ADs on middle "layer", which means they are spaced out and not centered.

So yes, some "skill" is definitely required to perform well with mass dragon against any decent base contrary to popular believe. Definitely no brainer to stomp TH 7 and very bad TH 8, maybe the whiners are among this bunch?

At TH8 you can stop dragon raids to 50% dmg one stars. I can barch any base for 50% dmg one stars. Its a complete non- issue. At Th7 its another story. If your being dragon'd at TH6 oh well.

What? forget the hogs, 8 lvl 2 drags should NEVER not 3 star a base with only one air D if the Drags are placed properly. I don't care what base layout is used...

Using gowipe and gowiwi takes more thought and effort....

when I see a base with weak air defense in clan wars I use dragons. end of story.

As a fellow dragon addict, I agree.

There's no reason for a th7 (even maxed) to not be 3-starred if the enemy is using full dragons (even level 1) + lightning unless the drag user seriously has no idea what they're doing.

I'm only maxed th7 myself, but I've yet to not 3-star a th7 or 2-star a th8. It's only th9+ where it really takes some bad layout + lucky drag placement to 2/3 star.

Though, congrats on your win :D Always fun to prevail vs. mass drags!

Am i the only one who thinks people who mock drags are just upset cause they got three stared by one and they are so easy to win with. (Kind of like Eddie in Tekken). I dont hear people mocking Gowipe and it can easily wipe bases, but it is harder to use. Btw not necessarily talking about this post, but every day there are 5 new drag posts. If u hate drags and get wiped change your base, if all u do is mass drag and pray. Pray that all of the complanees dont get them nerfed.
