I am having trouble defending my base from even TH 8s. Which is weird considering I should be able to fend off their attacks. I was using trapception but was 2 starred and 3 starred numerous times by TH 9s and some TH 8s which is frustrating. So I switched to tessarct and to shruiken. I thought tessarct was too weak against mass BARCH and giants in one part of the base so I switched to shruiken. But I got 1 starred by a TH 8 using BARCH and wiz. Should I stay at shruiken?
Honestly, no matter what base you use, there is going to be an attack strategy that will 1,2, and sometimes even 3 star. Remember that there are no perfect base designs. If you want to try and win some defenses, try to create your own base designs! There is a lot of great help in the Tactics and Strategy subforum. Making your own designs also make sure that your attackers don't know where your traps, etc are. A lot of the bases on the forum have already been broken down and defeated. People already know how to attack them in order to get the most out of the bases.Quote:

Each of those bases you listed are quite old designs that people have since learned how to overcome. I would evaluate your replays and see if there is a common side people attack from, a spot they keep abusing and edit it.
I myself have built my own variation of Trapception/Tesla Theme Park which is proving very useful. Attackers struggle when they see a base they don't recognise. Keep it fresh, keep them guessing.
Yea I made several minor tweaks on my bases. I feel like shruiken is good. I seem to have more trouble on stopping giants healers and wb when I was using trapception. But now my bases are a little more vulnerable to BARCH.
As th8 its hard to defend against th9 (giants lvl6) . Try creating your own base it is more satesfying to have your own base that works well
