I love having a TH7 :D And I am trying to think back at TH6.
Looking at the "troops" and "defences" back then, it seems to be very boring.
Thing is - I have a clan mate at TH5 moving to TH6.
But what are the thoughts about moving straight from TH5->TH7?
I know that a lot more needs work but TH7 is so much more fun :p
If you jump to TH 7 even with all TH5 defences maxed the inital part is going to be hell as your defences will still be flies that TH7 onwards can swat with ease. Other TH7s and TH8s will be able to loot more from you than they would if you were at TH6 cause of the TH level difference, So why?
Quick upgrade your townhall to level 9! The archer queen is waiting to be your plaything...lol
There is no issue (major) with someone going from th5 to th7. I did something similar. The only thing I upgraded at th6 was my clan castle, and then I went to th7. I was a level 30 at the time. Right now I am level 55, but still have to max archer towers. It is going to take a lot of patience, but farming at th7 is heavenly.
Tell your friend to upgrade.

"Skipping" a town hall is a terrible idea for several reasons.
First off, you will be really, really weak when you get to your new town hall level.
Secondly, you will take huge raiding penalties when attacking people who are lower TH levels (the same people who you are 'equal' to despite being a higher town hall level.
Lastly, you will be REALLY easy pickings for people your own town hall level or the town hall above yours to steal tons of your resources without a major penalty for the no-longer-existant TH level diffference.
Also... Town hall 6 is awesome! You get enough defenses and walls to really start having some creative defenses, plus you won't have TH9s ragging on you (unlike TH7s)

Everything Flammmy said :-) That loot penalty is a good equalizer against higher Halls looting lower ones, but if you are a TH 7 with TH 5 defenses those higher town hall players are going to have an easier time rolling you.
I have just moved from TH5 to TH6 and do not plan on moving onto TH7 until all my defences are maxed.
Yeah it might take a long time and the new defences and troop upgrades are very tempting at TH7, but everything is gonna get upgraded anyway...so may as well do it when not getting hit by loot penalties.... Rather be a strong TH6 than a weak TH7.
I have been at TH6 for 2 and a bit weeks and I just passed the half way mark with walls and other upgrades, it was a bit of a slog at first getting raided by higher levels but now that my defences are up to snuff it's getting fun. My TH is outside but in reach of splash defences and I still haven't been attacked in 72 hrs but when I do it's usually higher levels and the replays are fun to watch.
Agreed. Apart from you said th6 is awesome, it's nice and fun but not really awesome. In a th6 myself and the things I really like is the awesome looking walls, healing spell/healers, cool looking cannons and air defence. It's much easier to get the 1250 trophies achievment too as no one will attack but th9 who want to drop trophies ( I got it yesterday and every person who attacked me in the last 5 was a one trooper but the last one who got me 1250 who failed and got 49%, I was very lucky because he made one fatal mistake :)).Quote:

I don't understand the hate for jumping from th6 to th7 early. The fourth barracks and fourth camp allow for any active player to attack way more efficiently. It doesn't matter how badly the early th7 gets picked on because he can make twice that amount back in attack.
If I was currently a brand new th6 owner I would spend maybe a week there to upgrade some troops, and then move to th7. Extreemly low level troops are the only thing that can bring down a premature th7.
th6 is where the game really begins
I loved my TH6 Experience.
Even if you wait to max out everything, it is not as time consuming as what you are going to face at TH7-8-9.
th 5 is good i get 400k resource almost every raid poor those lv 7 and lv 8 guy
You didn't even read the SINGLE PAGE AND A HALF and start saying that. If you fully read all the first page you can see that early th skipping is stupid, and flammy has a reply which pretty much says all if it apart from th6 looks really cool and is the easiest time to get 1250 trophies.Quote:

I enjoyed my th6 experience and had a lot of fun raiding. I usually had way more loot than I could use after almost everything was maxed out (including walls). The only time I can say it got boring was when my trophy count hit the low 1700's (not a misprint) and I got matched with mostly th9s. It got really hard to find a village I could remotely succeed at raiding with Lv3 troops. It was only then that I decided to move-on to th7. So basically, I'd tell your friend to enjoy the journey and not just the destination. :)
Maybe he read it and just disagrees. I tend to think the same way as Micc, for a very active farmer the 4th barracks and camp far outweigh having a relatively weak defense for a few weeks. If you're active and online a lot, people can't attack you anyway, and you will farm gold so much quicker with 4 camps/rax that it doesn't even matter if you lose 180k/180k when you log off. Even if you have maxed defense before you move to TH7, there's no guarantee you wont get cleaned out regardless... ANY TH7 is pretty easy pickings for a TH8 who gets 90%.Quote:

Now the most important thing – if user is an active farmer, than no need to store as much gold and who in the right mind would attack th7 with very limited resources? Thus weakness should be completely dismissed at this point.
- Raiding penalties – irrelevant as farming at th7 is better than at th6. Stronger troops and better matchmaking with th8 full of gold makes it a much better farming. It is so much easier to attack th8 with lvl4 troops. Not to mention extra camp and extra barrack boosts farming ability in a dramatic way.
- REALLY easy pickings – with proper scheduling and liquidation of looted gold, player should not have any issues. Most th9 will not attack unless there is 300+ combined resources and most th8 would go after premature th9 for better loot percentage. With that said, even a loss of 150/150 or more for a 12-16 hour shield would make more sense than sitting on ton of gold while th6 and have no use for it.
Cannot comment on whether this user should or should not skip to th7 as I do not know details above, but as for me personally, skipping th6 was a great move.
Extra barrack, extra camp, extra wiz tower, arch tower, cannon, mortar, air def, tesla, BK and now dark troops make it a huge boost and a very hard to argue advantage. Again, level 4 troops are also a huge boost to an easier and more lucrative farming.
I would highly recommend however to stay at th7 until mostly maxed out and only after move on to upgrading to th8.

So if I sum it up (from my perspective)
TH6:
Extra defence: 25 wall, 1 mortar, 1 wizard. (and of cause 1 level up on all)
Extra offence: Giants and WB's to level 3. Rest as TH5.
TH7:
Extra defence: 50 wall, 2 canons, 1 arch tower, 1 mortar, 2 tesla's (and one more level up on all)
Extra offence: 1 barrack more, 1 camp more and troops at Level 4.
That is simply a HUGE difference.
My guesss is that the first few weeks at premature TH7 will be pretty hard - But after that - so much more fun :cool:
I would say at least build your mortar, wizard tower and walls before upgrading the th and then while its upgrading get your defences up, 1250 trophies, air defence up, healers in barracks and walls. That's what to do if you want an early th7.Quote:

I wouldn't suggest gemming th7 straight from th5.. But I don't see anything wrong with upgrading your th6 as soon as you get it. If you play enough you will likely max out most of the buildings in the 6 days the upgrade takes. I wouldn't waste your troops on 80/80 matches, a 200k/200k hit every time isn't difficult to find.
Th7 is a very large step up, extra 50 camp space, level 4 troops, dark elixer troops and heroes (if you can save enough), dragons (up to level 2) and level 5 mortars (one shot level 5 archers).
