Is there a way to avoid getting matched against Asian clans?

The clan that i'm in has been getting matched up against Asian clans very frequently in wars and we usually get demolished because we are a growing clan still learning high level strategies. The co-leaders decided to change the time that we search for a war to thursday at 5pm eastern time. Instead of thursday 11am easters time. We have started 4 wars at the new time and 3 out of 4 were Asian clans. Im wondering if other clans have tried a similar thing and had success and if so when is the best time to search.

It's funny that so many US teams want nothing to do with Asian clans. I wonder what percentage of CoC players/clans are Asian? Is it unavoidable that the majority of wars will be fought against Asian clans? I think Asian clans have a reputation for ♥♥♥♥♥ing (not sure whether that is deserved or not, but the majority of the clans that used a well known exploit on us were Asian/Arab).

We are starting our wars around 7:00 p.m. PST, and six of our past ten opponents have been Asian.

My clans only been matched against an Asian clan twice. Usually we start war Saturday morning and Tuesday night.

My clan is almost always matched up against turkish clans, we've only faced an asian clan once

Also, choosing to avoid matching against them is also a form of racial discrimination. You are looking to racially narrow you matches to only include the races you want.

My suggestion to you would be to learn from any defeat from any enemy clan. If you've faced clans that have better tactics, adjust yours to be better.

Don't think he cares about the race of the players one bit. Just the nationality.
And to be honest, I think he cares less about the nationality, and more about "when can I search for casual or bad clans to war with?"
I'm fairly sure that if he was constantly winning against clans with characters I have no idea how to type, he would care less.
I'm also certain that if he was always losing to "Dax's from Vermont" his post would have read, "how do I avoid clans from New England?"

Your line of thinking leads to racism in everything.
His better question would be, How can we be competitive with clans that are more organized?

You are wrong, racist is when you discriminate against others and treat them as inferior. However, in OP case, it would be anti-racist, because he is actually afraid to match up against them as they are superior. Do you call it racist if you don't want to get into a fight with mike tyson

I definitely understand his intent and I realize that he isn't being malicious, but the title of the thread is racially discriminatory.
It literally is asking how to avoid being matched against a specific race of people.

He then further explains that he believes that Asian people, as a race, are better at clan wars and that is why he wants to avoid them.

Again, I understand the intent is to find less organized or weaker clans, but that isn't the OPs question. His question is how to avoid playing a particular race of people.

I'm not sure how my post sees racism everywhere. I don't see it anywhere in your post, certainly. If the OP had said something like "wow, we are facing a lot of tough clans in clanwars. Any ideas on how to face easier ones?", that would have no racism in it either.

This is actually a common misconception. It doesnt matter if your pre-judgments (literally the defination of prejudice) is positive or negative, it is still a blanket judgement of an entire race of people.

In this case, his positive view of "Asians are better at fighting clan wars" is causing him to want to avoid being matched against Asian clans.
If everyone took this view and were successful at avoiding them, Asian clans experience in clanwars would suffer for lack of opponents... or, at least a lack of variety of opponents that everyone else would enjoy.

Do you see how a seemingly positive sterotype can have a potentially negative impact?

In your example of Mike Tyson, you wouldn't avoid boxing him becuase he is black... you would avoid boxing him because he is skilled, experienced, and will very likely kick your butt.

If, looking at Mike Tyson and other black fighters, you had said "you don't want to ever fight a black guy because black guys are good fighters", that is racially biased.

I don't like fighting Asian clans all the time because it's annoying not to be able to read the enemy's clan description, and it's annoying not to be able to identify them by name during the war itself.

I see what you're getting at...

What you have to do is take each case on its own merits. When I look at Mike Tyson, I can see his physique, read or watch his accomplishments, and judge him based on his skill compared to my own. Based on those things, I have guessed that he would be better than me at fighting.

A blanket statement of "I would never fight a professional boxer, because they are all good and will kick my butt" is a little trickier and I see what you mean there.
Is it discriminatory to hold such a veiw? I suppose it technically is... I would be (probably wisely) discriminating against a class of people (professional boxers), but not a race of people (black people).

I would argue that, taken individually, I would likely make the same determination that any given professional boxer would kick my butt, but I would do so on an individual basis, based on individual merits.

So, yes, having an opinion about a certain class of things (or people) is a pre-judgement about all of those things and, by definition is a prejudice.
I often say "I like pudding". When I sit down to have some pudding, I come into the experience with a preconceived notion that I will enjoy it. Sometimes I don't enjoy it, however (like rice pudding) and sometimes I discriminate against other desserts because of my prejudice in favor of pudding.

That doesn't make me a bad person, in the same way that I dont think the OP is a bad person.

I DO, however, think that racially-based prejudices are potentially more harmful than most others... especially moreso than dessert-based prejudices.

...although, ice cream manufacturers may disagree with me.

No worries, my man! It was clear that you didn't mean to be.

I've noticed that a lot of clans will pick a day and time to enter the pool. You guys could change that up to get into a different grouping to face some fresh, new clans.

Really, though, your best bet is to organize your clan and come up with a cohesive strategy for fighting your wars. Disciplined clanmates also help here.

Make sure everyone's offense is up to par with their TH level and that they hit whatever target is appropriate for your strategy.
Watch everyone's replays to see where they are falling short and watch your opponents to see what they do well against you.

Supercell plz make Asians only war against Asians. It's not fun to play against them. They're too serious.

There's actually a feature that blocks all asian clans from clan wars match ups! Here's how you launch it:

1) exit game, go to main screen
2) hold down any icon button on device until the app icons start dancing
3) press the little "x" in the corner of the dancing Clash of Clans icon
4) click "ok"

Presto! No more asian clan worries!

It's war. You can't pick & choose your enemies (I guess you can to an extent using time zones). I'm in the UK but in a clan with mostly Americans. We're at 19 war wins & think we've only faced (& beaten) one Asian clan. As one poster commented, the most annoying part is not knowing who is who from the text.

Wonder if our text all looks the same to them :p

probably not, but they can most certainly type it, while on the other hand, people with no asian language background will only be able to use the numbers to distinguish the bases...

And yes, I have seen a higher prevalence of cheeting by asian clans but since the scouting cheet has mostly been fixed this isn't an issue.

Asian clans are indeed more serious... I hardly see any war sniping in their clans. I believe it could be they are mostly from the same school/office/area so there is possibility of physical retribution for anti-social gameplay.

There's good, great and awful clans all over the globe. My clan has beaten way more than we've lost to them. The common thread in our victories and losses was our OWN motivation and our OWN strategy.

We are an American clan and you won't see any war sniping in our clan. Does that mean we take wars way more serious?

i'm confused about what the actual problem is? are we saying asian clans are better at the game so someone is fed up waring against them? Is there any actually obvious reason why they are better (assuming they are).
If they take the game more serious then maybe i need to find a web translator and join up with a clan from asia. Or is the statement hiding so perception that Asian clans have all paid for gems and maxed out tessla at TH7 something similar like that.

What allegations? That Asian clans have used the exploit we're not allowed to name/discuss on our clan many times in the past? Sorry, but I don't videotape battles, and don't really care whether you believe me or not. This is not a court, and I don't need to prove anything to you.

so my stupid friend asked me to start wars at 10AM so he can have an army ready when he wakes up, so i did, and we got matched with an asian clan, they were horrible we beat them 49-14, next war, same time start, another asian clan, and we lost 42-37, it was a 15v 15 war and the asian clan 3 starred every single one of our th8s and th9s and 2 starred all our th10s, almost every replay i watched they did perfect, and they knew were all our giant bombs were, and the clan was closed from start of prep day till the end so they could not have sent a scout to our clan to screenshot our war bases, therefore we lost our win streak, so how do i avoid them, please tell me whats the best time to search??!!!! im gonna guess 2pm when they are asleep? i just dont wanna look at the clan war matchup and see "my clan vs ching chong" and then say "oh well we lost"

I am italian, fluent in english and happily run an international clan of 50: about half of us are italian (most of whom speak very little english), several americans, several singaporeans, an australian, a couple israelis, egyptians, one guy from peru, malaysians and i'm certainly forgetting some other nationalities... We go from 9 to 50 years old (i'm 37) we go from lvl 60 to 107, It's a mess but it's fun, i love it. You can find someone online any time of day, but the organisation required for wars has made what was a fun easy going clan life a bit more complicated due to different levels, different timezones etc.


one of the singapore kids (9 years old and a genius) is of chinese origin and after we got our butts kicked by a super organised chinese clan joined them to go spy on them. He found out they not only have a great strategy, but more than that made me discover what for me is the 'key' to understanding why they are so good and organized so often - a striking yet simple cultural difference: they are much more used to being unselfish team players, thinking collectively and following (good) rules and directions for the greater good of the clan and do so automatically and happily compared to us (by us i mean my messed up mixed clan in particular, but probably most of us 'westerners' in general).


this is obviously a generalization so there must be many exceptions on either side, but for my experience with my clan (we have fought several clan wars vs asian clans, lost more than we have won) i can say that most of them are compact and organized and have a much higher number of members (usually all) following whatever their strategy is, they are usually all in the same timezone so it makes it easier to organize 1st / 2nd round of attacks, they all follow directions for a common goal; whereas i am always dealing with individual misunderstanding of our strategy, knuckleheadism in repeating offensive mistakes, me 1st and not us 1st mentality.


It takes a LOT of patience and time for me and my trusted group of co-leaders to chisel our clan, but it's a great, fun challenge. But what i wanted to say is that rather than trying to avoid competing against a very well organized opponent, i think there is a great lesson to be learned.


We (meaning my clan) will never be like them nor do i want to copy them, but we can certainly pick up some 'good habits' and try implementing them. We have been doing much better since we started using their strategy. Except obviously all the italians are on frikkin vacation for all of august and too busy being hungover, snorkeling, travelling to attack who/when they're supposed to.

We just experienced the same thing in regards to them knowing where every trap was. It's up to SC to find a solution on how to stop ghosting. Maybe it's an Apple thing that can't be fixed.

I'm in a 53 win clan, for the most part we avoided Chinese clans but about a month ago we started getting Chinese clans one after another, we win some but lose many more. We have been mismatched for the past month, equal numbers on the enemy are more superior. Starting to hate Chinese clans. Last war they got the perfect score.

Seriously stop blaming that you lost because of ghosting. That will just stop you from improving. Sometimes they spy on you, sometimes the base is compact and suddenly in between 2 defenses there is an empty 2 x 4 space. erm...doesn't need ghosting/genius to figure out where the bombs are.

Totally agree. To add on, there are 4.4 Billion people in Asia, 62% of the world population. Please dont be so dumb to think that all Asians game the same way and all caspers.

And it spans the time zone of UTC+12 to UTC+2. So there isn't a single time zone that you don't find Asians awake.

Maybe you are referring to chinese, arab or japanese clans? "If you cant read it, its Asian"?

Search for war when they are all asleep

Why don't Supercell introduce a fix where they Nerf Asian clans. They could disable the chat of any clan that is well run, polite, sporting and respectful. That would stop those dastardly Asians buggers from beating us. Simples.:)

Exactly! The only time I am really surprised in an attack is when someone places the bombs, teslas or traps outside the walls in less obvious ways. Inside spaces are obvious and it really does not matter which trap is there as they will all kill or seriously damage your troops. I could care less is someone g.h.o.s.t.s me and I dont bother myself because I dont need it.

I agree that humans are always looking for patterns in their surroundings that can help them identify problems or opportunities ahead of time, and that's where prejudgments come from. I would also argue that this behavior is, on the whole, a good thing.
...but not when it comes to excluding, demeaning or even raising up an entire group of people strictly because of their membership in that group.

Think of how you would feel if you were turned down from getting a job you desperately needed and were qualified to do, just because the interviewer thought that the Asian candidate would be more organized and reliable based solely on looking at him and seeing his ethnicity.

How is this possibly acceptable?

I dont think I said anywhere we should accept racial discrimination. I said we could not eliminate it. Its ingrain in humans. I also said we should be trying to better understand racial preferences that people have. Preference implying those discrimination's that people have that dont directly negatively impact others. For example - the preference that most people have to marry people of similar race or to hang out with people of similar race. Thats just a fact and trying to change that is stupid. Is it sort of discrimination? Yup. Is it wrong? Nope.

Think about how you would feel if you were turned down for a job or denied entry to college simply because the hiring manager or school wanted to ensure diversity and so even though you were much more qualified you were excluded because they wanted to be "fair"?

Getting excluded due to racism is just as bad as getting excluded due to many of the solutions well intentioned people put in place trying to eliminate something that is impossible to eliminate. We can try and address real forms of racism but we have to stop trying to solve it as if it is a disease to be cured. Its human.

I agree wholeheartedly with the first part of this and disagree just as strongly with the second.

If you have read any of my other posts in this thread (or really, the one you quoted) you would see where I advocate for judging each person on their own merits.
The idea of choosing to exclude ANYONE based on their race is wrong.
In your example, that is wrong because it excludes a person based solely on their race.

As I said in my previous post, it is a natural instinct for humans to prejudge things, but it is not always appropriate to do so.

A child learns quickly not to touch a hot stove. They make a prejudgement about it and surmise that it will burn them. They don't know that this particular stove will burn them with 100% certainty, but they feel strongly enough to avoid the situation.
That's an example of a "good" prejudice.

People are much more nuanced than stoves are. You can't know a person is good or bad until after you've had an experience with them. Judging a person based on their race unfairly advantages or disadvantages them.

Again, I understand that it is natural to do so, but wallowing in our natural impulses leads to all sorts of breakdowns.
You don't urinate immediately where you're standing when you have the urge to. You probably recognize that it's bad form to pass gas in an elevator. And you certainly don't immediately act on the impulses you likely (and very naturally) feel when an attractive woman walks by...

Just because it is natural, that doesn't mean it is good or just.
