Clan Wars: War Base Calling Ability

Actually, when you rewrite it, write the first part up as roughly what a player would see on the screen, and then either make your detailed explanations later down the post, or put in after each section, with some intuitive formating.

You have your base content as attention grabbing, easy to ready sections, with your details under it. In either case, this allows for people to skim the idea over, and if interested, can read the details with a quick second pass.

Both examples make topic finding sections of your idea much easier. You may want to tone down the color usage, large font, and bold typeset that you had in this first version. It is too attention grabbing and distracting. You may want to reserve such things for really important terms or phrases you want to make sure people know. At least don't make the list intro and list itself the same size and color. Making the intro phrase attention grabbing, and not the whole list, is all that you needed in almost every case.

And if you have questions on if it looks alright, stop... take a break, have some lunch, raid a few bases, or something, and step back to it with the mindset of seeing it for the first time, since that's what will be the case for people seeing your new post.

Anyway, I hope this helps. I have a few ideas I wanted to add before your second write-up, since you have had so much luck in presentation and getting people's attention, but that'd be for another post. Don't want to mix topics in the same post. And good luck.

My apologies to anyone anticipating the full reconstruction of this thread. As with many things, life has gotten in the way, however the same principle functions of this idea still apply. During the war preparation period, I have noticed a lot of commotion with clan leaders trying to message in who has "claimed" what base. A Leader or Co-Leader presses the "Search for War" button.

On the screen that shows "Searching for opponent", the clan Leaders can press a button to ENABLE the base calling feature.

Once the feature is enabled AND an opponent is found, the same war preparation period will begin.

When players press on one of the enemy bases, there will be the original option to "scout", and next to it will be the option to "CLAIM". Here is an example of it:

If a player decides to scout the base, there will be an option to "Claim" when scouting. It will look like this:

If another player attempts to claim a base that is already claimed, they will get an "error" message like this: (Idea presented by Nellybelly)

After players begin to claim bases, the clan Leader and Co-Leaders will be able to "Revoke a Claim" as they see fit through the BATTLE DAY.

On the Enemy Clan screen, that lists the clan members and attacks used, your clan leaders will see options next to each enemy name that has been Claimed, to "Revoke Claim made by XXXXX"

Now with every new and innovative idea comes pros and cons. Here is a list of what I think are all of the positives and negatives that come with this idea:

BENEFITS:

1. Since having this feature would remove the clan messages that have to do with base claiming, clans can have more time strategically planning for the war and be able to send more important messages.

2. A war base will be automatically unlike after the first 8 hours of the war period.

3. Keeps clans more orderly when it comes to wars.

4. The clan Leader AND Co-Leaders can have the ability to choose whether this feature can be turned on or off when they press the button to search for a war.

5. Free ability to call a base, or wait till the end of the battle to gather up whatever bases are left.

6. This feature will have no effect on the speed of war searches.

Potential Problems:

1. The fact that players are to only attack the ONE base they claimed.

2. What if a lower level decides to call the #1 player, and doesn't attack?

3. There will still be some fighting over who would get what base.

4. Players tend to change their minds when choosing bases to attack.

5. Other Suggestions?


Solutions to Potential Problems: (#1 corresponds to problem #1, etc)

1. Credit to iceageg: In an attempt to keep lower level players from claiming the number one base, or vice versa, a level range would need to be implemented.

2. The Leader and Co-Leaders will have the ability at any time during the war to "Withdraw" the claim made by any inactive player.

3. The unintended feature "first-come-first-serve" hierarchy. Additionally, clan leaders can move claims as they see fit.

4. The player may ask their clan leaders to revoke their claim.

Please feel free to critique this idea in any ways you see fit. :)

It's a good idea. My clan uses clashcaller but a few are for some reason unable to get online to put in they're calls. I wouldn't make it so a called base couldn't be hit because there are those guys that call a base then don't show. If you were to block attacks it should be for an adjustable time period. We require TH8s and lower to attack in the first four hours, TH9s 6 hours. Please keep pushing to get SC to add this feature! Thanx, Big Mac of Kiss My Dragon

A suggestion would also be clans could have timers for the reservations/claims so say..
12 hours into war say (12h remaining) then claims get sort of revoked so anyone can attack whatever base regardless of claims?

I feel the ability to claim should go on into attack 2 as well. most times people need to claim 2nd attack more than first attacks. After 1st round of attacks most clans wait to see how they stand and then plan 2nd attacks. So I think this feature needs more optimization. But it is a good idea.

If using mobile device, have them verify javascript is enabled. We had several users having same problem described, but it was a result of javascript being turned off.
