Builders and Builder upgrades
I had an idea and I discussed it with some of the people in my clan and they all agree: There should be more complexity in the "Builder" area. I searched the forum for threads on it but was surprised to not find any, so here's my ideas:
1. Builders should be able to be teamed up with each other to cut down on upgrade time. Even if that means that you don't get the shorted by equal proportions all the time (time cut in half with 2 builders or a third with 3). Even if the 2nd builder only took off 33% of the time and adding a 3rd builder took off 50% (just for clarification, not 50% of what's REMAINING, cut it down to 50% of the original time). Adding a feature like this wouldn't do what most people would think and make upgrading everything go much quicker because it would actually take longer than if you did everything with one builder. This feature would help those who are going into a clan war or such in the near feature and have an upgrade that they want to have in their War Camp but are JUST too short on time to have it done (like most defense upgrades).
2. My 2nd idea was builder upgrades. These upgrades would NOT be cheap in the slightest. These upgrades could cost combinations of resources and could sometimes require more than one builder to upgrade (i.e. to upgrade to a level 3 or level 4 builder, you need 2 builders that are minimum level 2) you could make it VERY complex. Back to the combination of resources: costs could range to be around the following:
lvl 1 builder- *number of gems based on the current level of builders*
-Does 12 work units per hour
lvl 2 builder- 50 gems, 100,000 elixir, 75,000 gold.
-Available at TH lvl 3
-Does 14 work units per hour
lvl 3 builder- 100 gems, 500,000 elixir, 450,000 gold
-Available at TH lvl 5
-Does 16 work units per hour
lvl 4 builder- 150 gems, 750,000 elixir, 700,000 gold, 2,500 Dark Elixir
-Available at TH lvl 7
-Does 18 work units per hour
lvl 5 builder (final level), 200 gems, 2,000,000 elixir, 1,750,000 gold, 50,000 Dark Elixir
-Available at TH lvl 9
-Does 20 work units per hour
*please note* the numbers listed above are to make it expensive but these could be lowered slightly and only apply to one builder, OR they could be raised slightly and apply to ALL current builders. If applying to all current builders, a minimum number of builders would be necessary to upgrade. (lvl 2 requires 2 builders, lvl 3= 3 Builders, lvl 4= 4 builders and level 5= 5 builders).
To more easily describe my "work units", it's simply normal upgrade time but 1 W.U. (work unit) is equal to 5 minutes of time. This will more easily describe the amount of work needed to be done in order to upgrade stuff while allowing for upgraded builders to be compared easily. When upgrading, you could either make it available to choose a builder or have it randomly assign it. The numbers I chose are very specifically chosen because you don't a TON of upgrade in terms of over all percentage (builders only end up working at about 166% the normal work speed) so it doesn't make an 8 day upgrade take 20 minutes, however, when you get to that final upgrade an they ARE working at 166% work speed, you've spent TONS AND TONS of resources on it, so you almost earned it.
If, assuming upgrades apply to all current builders, when a new builder is placed post-upgrade, the builder could then be upgraded for a nominal resource charge (not a TON but enough to make it count).
All of these upgrades would be selected through simply tapping on a builders hut and hitting upgrade. They would be instantaneous upgrades so as not to further complicate the upgrade time. Any upgrades currently in progress would continue along with the normal time regardless of how far into the upgrade it was when builders were upgraded. One builder would have to be available to upgrade (even though it doesn't take time) similar to when upgrading walls.
From a different aspect, the upgrades could be researched through a laboratory. and take a specific amount of time.
My goal with this is to add yet another really cool aspect to the game int terms of time and strategy because you must always think "is this worth it right now or should i do something else with these resources" but in terms of multiple builders working on the same upgrade or upgrading the builders themselves.
I really love playing this game but i feel like I'm going to slowly NOT play it if i don't have anything to do for a few days because i tend to forget about the game or just dont have incentive to play because it takes 5 or 6 days before i can FINALLY do something, but even then, it's "yes they're done! now I'm going to upgrade these!" *waits another 5 days*
If you have any questions about it, or suggestions or would like some clarification, PLEASE, feel free to place it down there. I know this isn't a perfect suggestion and there would be kinks to work out and 2 minds work better than one, or in this case, dozens of minds. Sorry for the long post and thanks for taking the time to read it. :)
