Are golems in the clan castle a good idea? My opinion is yes because it destracts the troops and the defences can shoot the troops down while the defences dont get touched.

I too have wondered this. If you look at other bulky troops like dragons and giants, they are not so good for defense because someone can just overwhelm them with some archers easily.
I am kind of split on this one, but I would say bad. They don't do much damage (at level one anyways), so they aren't going to be taking out many troops. I get that they could be tanks while defenses blast away at their troops. But to counter that, all you have to do is lead him away from the base so defenses can't hit your troops. Have your BK tank him, and down he goes.
If i ever see a golem in a cc i kill it right away, cuz it only takes a good lure and a couple minions to do, but that takes a special kind of evil:p My vote(from having tried it): no. Its a waste of a clanmate's time and de, and is too slow.
It could work, but here's what you need: an unlureable cc (and at least up here in masters, it doesn't take much for people to ignore the cc), really good defenses, a side that you ALWAYS get attacked from, and, most importantly, the ability to get your golem, when triggered, to move exactly to what I like to call your "death trap." In short, it's an area (preferably very close to your th), where opposing troops are under ridiculous amounts of fire (for example, mine is 2 infernos, 3 x-bows, 2 teslas, 2 archer towers, and a couple of wiz towers).
If you can get your golem to start being targeted while the opposing troops are in that sweet spot, you're set. Otherwise, the golem probably isn't going to be as effective as other, more typical cc troops, and of course golems will do basically nothing against air attacks or 50% 1-star attacks. Thus, while they could be fun to try out a couple times, they're probably not a very effective defense troop.
Ok guys, thanks for the feed back!
The golem is slow and doesn't do much damage... The attacker would just lure it to the corner, so your defenses wouldn't be able to shoot the attackers troops down
I often see level 6 giants in CC.
Pull them to a corner with barbs. Then drop 5 minions or look at them saying "what is that falling on my head ... errkkk"
You need troops that are slow and can fight back. a level 4 dragon is nice in a CC.
Plus Golems takes a ton of room and DE elixer to make... you might as well put witches in your clan castle and they will do a better job at defending your base.
