Simple idea:
Make a hopper symbol that a clan has an option to assign to someone. This can be for elders, co leaders, or the leader to assign. This can remain on the hopper's profile for 24 hours if given 3 times.

Yes, this is a great idea!
As a leader of a clan, I have had many hoppers join and leave and it gets really annoying, especially when you have to rely on people in global to tell you who is a hopper and who is not. However, I believe that the icon should stay longer than 24 hours, a whole week seems fair enough :).
Supercell, please add this!

This would be a pretty cool idea, but not too necessary. I mean, you could just put stats on the hopper's profile instead of making a badges and stuff.
No need, hoppers are fine.
SC won't put a negative symbol on anyone's profile. Not gonna happen.
better yet....just have it so when the person leaves the clan, his/her clan castle automatically is cleared. No troops leave outside the clan. that should fix the hopping situation.
This could be abused big time. If a clan leader didnt like one of their members and was about to kick him/her, they could give them the Hopper badge or whatever it is but they were not hoppers.
If the hopper symbol is invisible until three different clans have stated that this person is a hopper, then it should not be a problem.
Even better:
KEEP THE RECORD OF THIS PERSON'S DONATION AND REQUEST FROM THOSE 3 CLANS THAT STATE HIM AS A HOPPER. In this way everything is very obvious with fair privacy and respect.
Disagree.
A large number of hoppers are hopping only to donate troops. They jump from clan to clan looking to pawn off their full army camp full of giants to get their "friend in need" achievement finished off so they can get the gems from it.
How will clearing their clan castle have any impact on these types of hoppers?
That's not necessarily true.
As long as it doesn't "name and shame" any particular player, then there's a chance that SOMETHING could possibly be implemented to stop hoppers if SC felt the need to do so.
Here's a purely made-up scenario.
If SC decided that any one player can only join a different clan 10 times within the span of a week (note: back and forth multiple times a day between feeder clan and main clan is only counted as 2 different clans) and when you try to hop to the 11th clan, you simply get an pop up message saying "You have exceeded the number of different clans you can join within a 7-day span. Please wait ___ days ___ hours ___ minutes before attempting again".
This is a possible "mechanism" as you call it, and it doesn't name and shame anyone either. Again, purely a hypothetical example.
Instead, I think it would be better if there was maybe a limit to how many times you can join a clan everyday. For example you could only join a clan 5 times a day, and then if you wanted to join a clan after that you would get one of those red messages saying; you have reached the limit to the amount of times you can join a clan' , dunno just a idea ;)
It's easy to get rid of a hopper, if they request troops right away kick them, it's that simple. There's no need for drastic measures.
Hoppers give me xp :) and if you dont want to give troops to hoppers make a rule where they have to donate before they recieve. Or just dont donate when they first join.
