Suggestion for change to Clan Wars attacking mechanics
Ok,
so now most people are happy because it looks like the ghosting issues has been tackled and you can't see anyone ghosting anymore. This is an illusion because Supercell decided to start the attack animation on war map only after first troop or spell is deployed. When ghosting, troops are deployed after connection is cut already so an attack would never show on the war map if ghosting was taking place. This is a good move by Supercell (and to be honest they should have done it this way from the start of Clan Wars) but it doesn't remove the fact that some clans will still use ghosting to gain an unfair advantage. Only now they won't get caught in action, at least not that easily. The only way to detect ghosting (or a starting attack) is to attack a war base and if someone is already attacking it, you will get a notification that the base is already under attack. So you can catch but not identify a clanmate ghosting, but never an enemy member doing it on your home clan's bases.
My suggestion is very simple and as follows:
1. Fix scouting on war map so that the spawning area is visible. Currently an attack has to be started to see the spawning area and sometimes if you find a hole you may want to cancel and switch your troop combo for a more effective attack.
2. After point 1 is fixed, start clan wars attack immediately after attack button has been pressed with no option to end battle. Sometimes connection gets cut but that can happen with the current set up anyway. Maybe if SC found a way to record results locally for post-synchronizing, the issue could be tackled.
Ghosting is still possible in revenge attacks, farming and goblin map. The same points 1 and 2 could be fixed for revenges, to make them more fair. For regular farming/pushing and goblin map the current system could be kept because there's no option to scout first.
