TH 8 Master 2 with Barb and Minions

I was trophy pushing at TH8 around 2500 trophies when I got attacked by a fellow TH8, very premie (L2 wiz tower, L4 walls), with army of 150 barbarians and 25 minions. That was 2.5 days ago and he was at 2731 trophies. I visited him a few times because of course I wanted revenge attack...and always the same army composition (online constantly). He is at 2860 now, same army, about 2.5 days later. So he has gone up 129 trophies plus the 49 I got from him on my eventually revenge attack and I'm sure he loses a ton every time he stops. It seems he is getting more than just TH sniping. I figure he must be attacking bases with everything on the outside, so I gave it a try and epic failed...this is also how he attacked me, barbs to get outside and then push minions in at the end with a rage spell...

Anyone know more about this strategy? It is super cheap and fast army and seems to be working well for him. I have been putting the barbs in first and then minions as insurance, but maybe he is doing both at once and taking advantage of the distracted defense....I get a lot of heart breaking 48%, but just can't push over 50%...I get closer with BARCH, but usually need lightning spells or hero to push over...would like a faster way to climb up...like he is doing!

Also, his barbarians are only L4 and minions L2...

You should be able to spot BArchable bases well. Anything with >40% on the outside and somewhat large compartments can be turned into 50%. I've never been to M2 so that's all I can really say though.

Yes, but what do you think this person is going with his 150 L4 barbs and 25 L2 minions to get trophies so fast? His IGN is REVO-X. I am almost positive it must be a second or third account...maybe he is on here?

He is probably pushing to champions for the 2,000 gems. Well, if it is working well for him and he does not have level 5 or 6 barbarians then I do not see why you cannot do it. He is probably very wise when deciding who he wants to attack and uses the barbarians as a distraction for the minions.

you should review the replays
and take pictures
