I'm at Townhall level 7 but I have a problem getting dark elixir

You're fighting multiple things at TH7 relating to getting DE... No ability to make it yourself, people attacking you for yours (as you accumulate more), and the lack of it in lower trophy ranges (all of this, you're probably painfully aware of).

The key things I usually suggest to clan mates are:
1) Always keep your TH outside hoping for those quick shields (which means less DE stolen while you're not online).
2) Push up into higher trophy ranges such as gold 1/crystal 3 (sniping is usually the way to go for th7).
3) Look for villages with DE drills that are full or mostly full - and make sure you know how to tell the difference between drills (obviously a lvl 6 drill that's half full will be more lucrative than a lvl 2 drill that's completely full).

And you're looking for 3 things in a base...
1) DE storages on the outskirts of a village,
2) Drills that have more than a hundred in each,
3) Open TH's.

And one other thing... You're shooting to always progress with the amount of DE you have. You may lose some overnight by an attack, but as long as you're continually progressing, you're doing well. If you find yourself falling behind, you may need to play in longer sessions in order to gain more than you lose during attacks.

And be patient... the DE is out there with "easier" bases... be prepared to lose gold hitting that "next" button while you're doing this.

I thought you said you wanted minion upgrade... Ah nevermind then, haha.

I took a look on your base and I'd say you could go to th8 - get the mortars up and maybe the wizard towers, but after that you're good to go. Part of it can be done while the th is already in progress.
Then get the drill and level 5 troops and you'll have enough de... ;)

I maxed my barb king at lvl 5 and did all my de upgrades in the lab by going to gold 1-ctystal 3 and sniping full de drills. Dont lightning storages! it takes too long to create the spells and the payout is relatively low. get your de the right way, from farming, not zapping!

I'm myself a Th7 and i have my BK going to lvl 5 in 2 and half weeks of my TH7 lifetime .. its very easy

1) push ur cups to 1500-1600 range so u can have good gold and Elixir loot as well as DE
2) Look for exposed storage and Drills of TH9s and 10s , i got a lot of 2k+ de raid from maxed drills
3) Don't be afraid to loose a battle to get precious De , Hit d exposed Th to maintain trophy
4) Believe me , Zapping ain't recommended unless u hit a full storage,i would rather use two lightning to take out a mortar which protects d De storage and hit d storage directly . So I save a spell here and get more DE
5) Try to avoid sniping maxed TH8s( those who are very active with maxed skulls) to lower d chances of getting revenged and Never zap their storage

Army:

1)Normal Barch army for storages inside two layer of wall and exposed drills
2) Giant- Healer for storages behind 3 layer of walls


Spells :
Carry two lightning and one heal

Lightning to take out one mortar and heal to heal ur barbs when under splash damage

In my times as a town hall 7 and farming for dark elixir, I found that gold 2 contained a steady supply of dark elixir. However, gold 2 lacks gold and elixir(or at least in my experiences), but is plentiful in DARK elixir.

hey buddy im on th7 too the best advice i can give you is move up in trophies im using a farming layout at the moment and staying around the 1600-1700 trophy range and found that to be friken awesome for de elixir and gold, like others have mentioned snipe the drills and outside collectors i have managed so far to lvl my bk to almost 3 and minions upgraded i been getting up to 1000 de in one raid just from drills! You just need to asses the base beforr you attack i also use a combination of archers barbs and minions for the loot hope this helps

Im also a TH7 and i got my King in 3 days. This is what is did
1. Push to Gold 1
2. Snipe and loot exposed DE Drills using BARCH or BAM
3. Repeat Step 2 until got get the King

Ive nearly fully maxed th7 but I want more bk levels. I gemmed to get it from 1250 trophy challenge. What do I do?
