I'm starting a clan but have no idea how to add people outside of global chat and attack/defense logs. Help?

I'm starting a clan but have no idea how to add people outside of global chat and attack/defense logs. Help?
I've just got their in-game name and nothing else.
You can invite people from your facebook, just link your facebook account. All your (fb) friends playing COC can be invited as long as they are NOT in a clan.
Other than this, there is no other way of inviting a "specific" person.
Edit: You can just ask them to search and join your clan
you can post in the sub-forum looking for clanmates
and you can directly invite game center and facebook friends
