There are two concerns in the first page, one is the items asked, and the other the quantity. My previous focuses on the quantity part. As for the first, I have a friend who is in top 500 boat leaderboard score. She calls 100+ boats a day, and I like filling those easy crates to get some xp too. I do believe a pool of 100 boat data daily is way more accurate than, lets say, 20 boats in a week from those posts that I call non-sense.

Yes, I do believe SC listens to their consumer base & if there is overwhelming evidence that a feature of the game is causing concerns or insurmountable difficulties, they address the issue accordingly. They have done this numerous times in the past, just one particular instance being they did away with duplicated items on boat orders. No longer do we get requests for 12 crates of soy sauce. They have also adjusted the numbers of items per crate before as well, but this sort of positive interaction would never have taken place if players hadn't voiced their concerns to begin with. A problem can't be fixed if no one knows there's a problem in the first place.

The information regarding your top 500 friend circumstances confirms that she uses diamonds to achieve that sort of play. 100+ boats per day equals 500+ diamonds per day, & I should imagine she keeps Tom on constant call too which is additional diamonds invested. Many farmers do not have that luxury, and as another poster observed, 'If they're using diamonds for everything, they're not "achieving" success in the game, they're purchasing it', which leads to the inevitable conclusion 'that nothing at all in the game would be a challenge for them as it is for us.'

I doubt anyone would have difficulties completing any order with an unlimited diamond supply & hundreds or thousands of followers to support their game play. As such, it merely strengthens my belief that those farmers who do only 20 boats a week have a more realistic view of the increasing challenge to sustainability since the town introduction. Non-sense or not, let's agree to disagree on this point, shall we?

As you've clarified you were speaking about the quantity of items, a point which I conceded as a being valid constant (even without the benefit of double digit daily boats from which to compile a data pool for my own confirmation), however the question of frequency of items being requested has yet to be addressed. I'm not trying to pick an argument because we differ on issues. I ask out of genuine curiosity & because more than just my own experience prompts me to. For anecdotal evidence that product ratios are skewed, please refer to this thread...

OK, I officially have Alzheimer's. I have been playing every day since December 2012 and I have absolutely no memory of the Great Carrot Debarcle. Perhaps i just didn't notice it, but that seems unlikely. Excuse me while I go phone the local Rest Home and book myself in.

It's probably because it was so weird an event and so much a non-event (versus the others we are used to) that it's not worth remembering. I remember it just because it was um...interesting to have carrots grow in half the time. This event caused the DD to be FULL of carrots. Nothing was really achieved with that event. There's a thread about it here somewhere. I remember that thread too.

Anyways, I keep the carrot event in the back of my mind because IMO, I would like to see more half-time events but on useful items like sugar or dairy or jams or chocolate bars and jelly beans! I am always hopeful one day SC will offer one of those half-time events again on something that will just have us all smiling with delight. I can dream, right? ;)

Thanks Lady. I missed that thread. Page after page of specifics sure look like a change to me.

Some of you are new since the captain achievment thread was so popular and busy. I think we were on the ninth thread when we finally retired it. And the reason we retired it wasn't because we didn't have enough people to staff the thread 18 hours a day, seven days a week. It was because SC had made the achievement possible for people to achieve without us. Prior to that it was very hard to do without hiring Tom. Maybe the people who think boats are easy also keep Tom on retainer. But it just shows that SC does change things.

Now I know some may say that what I just said, proves that boats are easier, but we retired the thread before all of the recent updates, including the sandwich/salad/sauce update and the soup machine. I am not sure but I don't think we even had lobsters at the time. Those updates plus the town only increased the demands for those certain items and unless those changes are taken into account things are going to be OFF. I finally got a boat that called for dresses. But it only asked for two per crate! I could have given ten each because there is no other market for them. Plus I am sure people remember when the smoothie machine was added. There was no market for smoothies and we all complained loudly about that. And Super cell responded didn't they. Smoothies are really popular in my town.

So to answer that question once again. Yes yes yes I expect Super Cell to make changes in the game. They have in the past and they will again. But they won't know how we feel unless we make threads about all this "non sense".

I dont like the sound of it, if it was so traumatic that GladeMaid has blocked it completely from her mind, and i hope they dont repeat it - I cant afford therapy.

It WAS pretty bad. But you know I don't remember if the whole flying newspaper announcing the event happened then. Maybe she just didn't tap on the little sign and missed it. Can you imagine the conversation between the therapist and the farmer.

Yes I am but I have this farm and all of a sudden my carrots are growing faster than they did before. It's crazy but I don't know what to do. The newspaper is full of ads for carrots and I feel compelled to keep planting them,but I can't keep up. I'm dreaming about carrots and I have to wake up in the middle of the night to harvest them

Dearest Glade, yes, my friend, the Great Carrot Debacle did occur. It was the very first event introduced. I remember it well because after I finally dumped that first RSS full of carrots, I didn't grow another one the entire event. I grew other crops & made a fortune selling them in the DD. Variety was definitely the way to go on that one! Complaints about how badly that event threw things out of kilter were as high as the mountains of carrots it brought on!

We all know i have the memory of a dead ant, but you would think i would remember the DD being chocka with carrots instead of bacon and eggs. Pitchfork must be right, I must have been so traumatised I've blocked it completely, and a good thing too, by the sound of it.

Now, if they held an event like that for jam, or chocolate, that would be something worth remembering!

Interesting, you try to take part of my post and ignore the rest. Let me clarify more. The reason i mention my friend is that she got a lot of prem items from her friend, so a lot of the case, she flagged the easier crate such as the big amount crops for the friends/followers to fill. I am either always one of the first to check her boat, or that she inputs the data for me. So i can get the frequency of item asked. I have collected quantity of items asked for almost 3 months, and frequency (from her only) for about 2 weeks. And i can say the frequency of item is kinda balanced.

There are 119 boat items, and i have data of her 2211/3=737 boats. You would expect each item being asked 18-19 times. Most of the items do fall in that range. And for your information, the highest so far is roasted tomato (easy to buy in shop anyway) for 31 times and the least is sushi roll for just 7 times. The numbers still fall in the normal distrubution range I believe.

So, all those posts questioning SC make it harder for boat is complete nonsense. Why would they make it even harder?

And you thought you were correct, but you werent. Soy sauce still get asked as 3x3, 3x4 or 4x3 in level 54. I filled a crate for a follower yesterday, so i know.

I kinda dislike diamond-spending playing either. But it is what pays supercell for the updates and servers, so i d rather not comment on how my friend's gameplay. For me, I dont spend, and I can get about 30-35 boats a week. I casted away about 3-5, which is still the rough percentage before town.

For me, I dont think anything has to change on the boats, except the goal on the boat event. It has been the same number (and actually higher at one occasion) before and after town release. If you prefer boat, you can do more and then do less on trucks/town. Same for other combinations. Its no different. I see it as a challenge. If everything has to be made easier, then what is the point of gaming, and whats the use of sending away town visitor or casting away boat or trashing truck orders?

The way I dont like some of the posts is kinda like life. You face a challenge and you take it and complete it, but not escape from it.
