It's not just we higher-level players that are feeling the pressure. I can't imagine what it is like to have two machines and two crops and 4 products become available all at once. If my aged memory hasn't failed me completely, we used to have a level's grace between new machines and plenty of time to earn the required coin while we worked at leveling up, but the demand that updates are positioned so that lower level players don't feel excluded means that all new machinery etc has been dumped on the lower levels, while the upper levels have nothing to work towards, except the town. However, that comes in at lower level (41?) so more pressure for them and just an exercise in collecting TEMS for us, not withstanding the insane effort to keep everyone fed.
I find I am leveling up more by accident than design now. I used to work the truck to level up, but I haven't sent out an order for days, even though every single one will bring in XP or coins in excess of 500, so I agree with Tiggs that the need to level up has gone, because all it brings is a diamond and a couple of bits of dirt every second time.
I also believe adjustments need to be made to the truck and boat and event goals to take into account the effect the town is having on the ability to maintain resources, and I sincerely hope the amount of interest in this thread will convince them to do so. Soon.
That at said, I notice boats are a bit more reasonable now that the event has finished. Which begs the question: were we deliberately set up to fail?
