Well, when you put it that way, I guess it does work. ;) However, if someone is hunting for dark elixir and has an overpowered army like dragons or giant-healer-wizard, you are screwed my friend. :confused:

Trust me, it makes a HUGE difference putting it in the corner. I'll even go one step further and recommend putting decorations around it to ensure the attacker knows it's completely safe.

Defense is a game of odds. When you log off your base is immediately offered to people who are nexting by. Most of those people in farming ranges have fast build farming armies such as BARCH or BAM with a bunch of giant/healer types mixed in. Then you have the beast mode guys with hogs/wizards/dragons/etc. that will torch you no matter what you do with your TH.

Your goal is to get a shield as quickly as possible by the first guy who sees your base no matter if he's a TH4 or a TH10 who gets virtually zero loot from you. If you put your TH inside, you will never get hit by the little guy and you will never get hit by the TH10 because he'll get no loot from you. So, you're essentially guaranteeing that you will get hit by somebody at TH8/TH9 who has a big army.
Second option is putting your TH right next to your base like you have it. The results are amazingly similar to having your TH inside because very few low level guys will attack it and almost no high level TH10's will attack it because they have to expend far too many troops to "give you a free shield". However, as attacker after attacker goes buy eventually a guy who does have enough heat to rock your world will eventually attack you.

Third option is putting TH in corner all by itself where now you have high level and low level guys who will hit it again, but because of the people who choose to "trap" their TH's with tesla's I find that the little guys will still often pass up the "free shield" for you just in case it's trapped.

This leads into the fourth and best option. Not only put it in the corner, but surround it with decorations or flags to let the guy know that he is 100% safe to attack you with zero risk. Now any TH10 or TH4 strolling through will happily give you a free shield and you'll get one almost instantly every time you log off.

Sure, there will be times when the first guy gives you the shield and also attacks you, but he would have attacked you anyways because he had the army and wanted what you had.

I agree with the suggestion of putting decor around the th so they know it's safe. However, I'll say this much as well, once you get enough dark elixir, those not good enough to stay in crystal with high level troops will get your dark elixir. If they want it, they will take it. You just have to suck it up and move on. I'm currently saving for archer queen as a th8 nearly maxed. Every day I get loonian thrown at me with lvl 6 ad and level 4 tesla. I lose at least 1000 de each time. That's just how it rolls.

I like my 5th option. I put my drills, lv7/6 elixir/gold storages, and decorations next to my TH outside of the walls. I like to think that it makes people happy and leave my other storages alone.
