How to Make a Clan Successful
Are you about to start a clan? Or is your clan unsuccessful? Take a few minutes to look at this guide!
I am gonna talk about how to run an effective, active, loyal, donating clan. THIS IS WORTH YOUR TIME. I have seen this tactic work many times so try it out!
Step 1: Make the clan when you come off a high. You are 10 times more likely to get members if you have high trophies. This helps with loyalty too.
Step 2: Make a good clan name. No one wants to join a clan called Bob's Clan. Think of something creative. Choose a name that people want to see on their clan castle's. Something menacing.
Step 3: Lay the rules down in description: You make the rules, and NO ONE breaks them. Stick with the rules you first had and don't be persuaded by "friends" in your new-found clan to change them. Go with your gut.
Step 4: Recruiting: This is a crucial step, needed for any clan (no duh) but seriously, effective recruiting got me a full clan in 2 days time. The best way to start recruiting is telling people how good your troops are and how many trophies you have. Also, it is best to offer "first five" elder or some incentive for people to join besides troops.
Step 5: Be Active: No one wants an inactive leader. This keeps your members loyal and chatty. It also helps with your donations. Shift to the needs of your clan. No not the rules but things like trophy requirement and clan status (closed, invite only, anyone can join).
Step 6: Promotion's and Demotions You need to be smart with who you make elder. This isn't as important with the new kick cool-down but it still matters. The average amount of elders per clan is about 10. It is unwise to have more, and VERY unwise to have an all elder clan. Elder provides an incentive for people to work on donations and chattiness. Don't abuse position.
Step 7: Pushing/Farming Clans: Some clans choose to farm 100% and some clans choose to push 100%. I don't like those clans. If someone wants to farm in a pushing clan, then you have to kick them and you are down a member. The best way is to have a clan that has farming seasons and pushing seasons.
Step 8: Kicking This step will come later, when you start to get full. Remember back in the beginning when I said that you need to stick with your rules, well heres where you bend them a tiny bit. Your donation limit needs to bend depending on how good the players are in your clan. If people are not donating and someone wants to join, its a no brainer. Kick the inactive and welcome the new guy, BUT, in your kick tell the inactive WHY. He/She might rejoin and be a changed member (This has actually happened)
Step 9: Returning Players If a player leaves and then rejoins later, even for a day, they DO NOT get their previous status reinstated. They have to RE-EARN it, just like everyone else. This helps keep members in a clan and loyal.
Step 10: Trophy Pushing Trophy hunting is important to a successful clan, it helps recruit higher level players. When planning a push give PLENTY of advance. When starting a push provide an incentive (this is where elder status is handy). I have heard of some clans giving $15 iTunes gift cards as an incentive and they usually push very high
Step 11: Feeder When your clan hits 50 members it doesn't mean you are ready for feeder. No, you are ready for a feeder when you have a lot of people eligible for elder and you have to constantly turn down people who want to join, THEN you are ready. You need to make a choice. Who will lead the new feeder. Choose someone you know in real life, then you can talk to them when you are in different clans. This clears up confusion. You can absolutely NOT keep leaving and rejoining your clan to check on feeder, this creates unrest.
Step 12: If you're not very experienced in the game, you don't have to hide it. There may be players in your clan that are better or more experienced. These players are your go to guys. Ask them for advice on what they think will help the clan.
