I know they don't do splash. I meant that wizard towers do are usually placed at two storages, so I was thinking that if I put a hero at two storages each, they would help defend my storages, along with the wizard towers.

Put them right outside the core. This will attract pekkas and heroes away from center. If you are farming then stick em in the middle
