DE and TH9

I'm getting close to maxing TH8. I have all 5 archer towers at lvl9 and 2 teslas as lvl5, as well as a good portion of lvl7 walls, otherwise the defense is done. While working on these I realized that all this is going to be done well before the lab upgrades. I don't really want to sit around with 5 builders twiddling their thumbs while I wait for the lab. So I'm thinking of just maxing the elixir troops and spells. I'm kind of thinking with two maxed drills at th9, it'll be much easier to get the DE, but at the same time I know I'll need a boatload of DE for the archer queen. Right now I have hogs at lvl3 and minions at lvl2 and the rest is lvl1. Any thoughts? Does it make sense to put off the expensive DE upgrades until I have the second drill and at least some lvl6 troops to raid in a higher trophy league?

Why in the whole wide world would you delay your town hall upgrade for lab upgrades? o_o

Getting dark elixir at TH9 is so incredibly easy, don't even worry about it. Those level 6 drills are going to solve all your problems (for the cheap DE upgrades anyways).

Thats what I'm wondering about. Will DE be that much easier to get that i don't need to be my OCD self and max everything. From my calculation two max drills give 4.5k a day, which is not a ton by any means.

Dark elixer is much easier to get at th9 with 2 maxed out drills.

the only thing i will caution you is that once you. Hit th9, you become fair game for th10's and lose the easy loot from th7's.

If your defences aren't high enough, th10's (and other more advanced th9's) will come in and take it from you.

i personally didn't do a whole lot with de as a th8, its much easier as a th9.

Thanks, that's good to know. I will definitely max the remaining defense an walls first and I'd like to max the BK, but I think I leave the rest of the DE stuff then.
