Ship for troop donations

First post guys. Please be gentle if this has been suggested before. I tried searching and didn't find anything similar.

I've read several posts about a water based troop, trying to make use of the beautiful water feature in the southwest corner of our villages. Although I do not think that would be a practical addition to the game, I have an idea to make use of this area.

I would like to see a ship sitting there. Make it as cool and tough looking as you would like, but let us house troops in it that we plan to donate. The troops would not be retrievable from the ship, only available for donations, and putting a cap of 40-60 troops in the ship at a time would seem logical.

Reasons:
1. I love donating wizards, I love receiving wizards in my cc, but I rarely use them in battle. Problem solved if I could train 10 or so overnight, stash them in the ship, and in the morning at least two of my clan mates will have a castle full of level 5 wizards.

2. I donate roughly 1000 troops every week. The time to train the replacements really starts to add up. That's 25,000 seconds of training (if all I donate is archers) that I have to make up for when I go to attack.

3. You put the water there, lets use it for something.

not bad. it would reduce the complaining in clans about non-donations. If im correct, the ship automatically donates the troops right? and ultimately it would reduce the hopping from non donating clans drastically

I like this idea coz its like the boat thingy in Hay Day, so the boat leaves with your troops that you put into and delivers them to the clan members who needs troops when you're not online, that's smart

I wasn't thinking of the automatic donations, but I like that too. With clans being international, we have several members that truly are not on during the peak requesting times. This could alleviate that a bit.

My original thought/plan was a separate storage outside of camps, so that troops designated to donate wouldn't be counted against our troop total, but I like the auto-donate too. I would imagine that would logically require a smaller cap on the number you could put in there.

I like that idea a lot. It really annoys me the time it takes to replace the donated troops. It seems that whenever just before the raid my clan members request, then get irked when i don't donate.

Great idea! This is the best water based idea i have come across. I would love boats for pure donation purposes. I think your simple idea works the best... i was trying to think of a way to make it so that your clan mates could see what was in your boat and select a member for their clan castle... but that would open the game up to more hoppers who go to high clans and steal troops. Your idea of a simple water based troop storage system is the best. I hope supercell picks this thread up.

Glad to hear some positive feedback on my idea. I think it would be one of those simple think SC could do without much programming that would be a big benefit to players. Hope this bumps the topic up a bit to be seen by SC.

i like this idea and the auto donation thing, but there might be a problem. If we are all on auto donation and someone requests who is going to donate first? i think it will crash. unless they do a cool down time. I don't know i just can see the auto donation feature causing more problems.

Great idea and you can upgrade the ship just like you upgrade the camps to level 7 with 75 troops

Hmm, must say I rather like this idea.

Although I would like to question as to how the AI of the ship decides to donate troops to clan members, if it is automatically done. I.e, if you have a mix of tiers or regular vs DE troops stored on the boat, are the lower tiers donated first or a steady mix of all?

Donating automatically is not going to happen:) but imagine this you can use the ship as a training point like a Barack and when you donate the system take troops by default from the ship. If the ship is empty you want be able to donate you have to train some new troops from the ship.


This will basically separate you normal attacking routine from the donations that can usually mix up your time. And that way you can have units like PEKAS and Dragons ready to donate to your clan mates.

I would love to help out with PEKAS and Dragons but now I can not be bothered because of the long time

Really good idea the training time of the donated troops are really anoying this defenitly should be in an update

sounds awesome. but wouldnt this cause the game to crash just as the waterfall did?

Well it is up to us to make a suggestion and up to supercell the say if they can implement it

This is a neat simple idea

you are basically adding a donated troops camp that once troops are put their they are for clan use only, you donate as normal.
how are you filling the boat/camp

1 click on regular camps and send troops to the clan boat/camp?

2 have a clan option in the barracks so you change tabs and select troops for the clan they get produced only when their are no troops in production for your normal camps?

3 be able to select a destination for the troops in the barracks list?

good idea i hate delaying battles for donating but this gets round that problem. lets me donate faster as well.

I hadn't thought of how to fill the ship, maybe a tab in the barracks would work, or perhaps it would be selected from the ship. Maybe SC would work that part out if they like the idea.

As I've thought about it, I don't really like the idea of automatic donations. For me, that spoils the simplicity. Also I think it would take away some from the game. At this point, with long upgrade times, a large percentage of my enjoyment for the game comes from active chat and "racing" each other on donations. So I still like the idea of having to manually donate.

The ship idea is great however not the auto-donations,that wouldn't work.

The docks should be repaired just like the clan castle, and about the time clashing thing, a cool down like someone said would be best. About what kinds of troops will be donated we should have like the format of the barracks, donate all the troops of one kind first then, to another. Upgrading the docks is an essential, but thing is "Does the docks count towards people raiding us?"

Great idea put a poll up I'll vote for it, (I guess this donated automatically).

Now there is something, with the auto donations but a cooldown, who cares what the time is supercell can sort that out but really great idea paimon.

The repairing of the docks would be good as it would give the noobs something to do.

Ship for troop donations is brilliant. More players should support the idea if we want this to happen

I like the idea of a ship in the water but I disagree with the way it's used. The auto-donate could potentially be harmfull to others. In my clan I have members that want all giants for their attack, some want goblins with wallbreakers, and others want archers with a wizard or two. Even if you're saving time, this could cause more frustration than benefit.

I do, however, love the idea of the ship. Like when you donate, your donated troops could run onto the boat and disappear instead of just running out the edge of the map and disappear infront of your eyes. Troops you recieve from members could also come from the boat instead of just randomly running into your castle from some location on the border of your map.

This would be cool,but what could we do to make it cooler...when you donate troops,you could designate the place you want them to go(like in the training q tell them to go to army camps or the donation boat).

Thanks for the positive feedback folks. I would really like to see this happen, but I agree that auto-donations would be damaging to the game.

I think the idea of rebuilding the docks, like you rebuild the clan castle is awesome. Maybe only available after you've reached a barracks lvl 10? Just a thought...

This is a great idea! Here are my suggestions:

* works like the clan castle - level 1 will look like a canoe and house x number of troops and go to level 4, which evidently will look like a massive Viking ship, and hold more troops. Therefore, it will need to be upgraded. That way There is still currency spent in the SC realm (which I am sure they will appreciate)
* to move troops to the ship to ready them for donations, you click on your regular army camp and there there would be a button within the info button to move troops to ship - no cap when moving troops (except limited by the 'seats' on the ship). This will involve training and moving troops to stock the ship up.
* once the troops are on the ship, they are there to stay until donated, so plan wisely.

My vote is for donating manually, so you can donate for your clans specific needs and stock your ship accordingly.

More support people don’t let this idea die

Bumping my own thread, I still think this is a great idea, and not overwhelmingly difficult for SC to implement. Simply, a queue for donate-only troops. Putting an upgradable ship in the water chills some of the water based attack/defense ideas. (which I think are silly for the most part). This will allow us to attack without retraining the troops lost to donation or create certain troops you don't use in you attacking army but wish to donate ie. wizards, pekka, dragons or whatever you choose.

Please help keep this idea alive if you like it
