Pure BARCH or...

So the last few days since I started raiding again and pushing my upgrades hard for maxing out TH5 before moving on (Looking to try and speed things up on development in the long run and avoiding going premie.) I've been running raids with 3 WB, 40 Barbs, 70ish Archers when trying to hit bases with good value to them. More times than not I found myself sacrificing the win for an attempt to grab the most out of the resources, sometimes wasting a Lightning Spell to squeak out a could thousand more. After looking at the some of the raids that have been getting pushed back through on me for a fair measure of success, I noticed that most of the smaller ones were putting a few Giants to use before rolling in with the hard push with Barbs and Archers.

Would the set up of 3 WB (Lv2), 5 Giants (Lv2), 40 Barbs (Lv3) and 64 Archers (Lv3) be better in the long run for ensuring more successful resource grabs while farming raids?

I barch with some wallbreakers and about 15 minions. So once the air defense is cleared out u can release the minions to take the loot with the barbarians and archers. This strategy BAM is extremely effective if done right. Try it.

I wont be able to BAM for a good long time. TH5 at the moment with just a Barracks and Walls to knock out before I start making my steps into TH6

Thats why I was asking about putting using a few Giants to get some real meatshields for my BARCH army.

92 Barbs
100 Archers.

Works well. I'm saving DE so no Minions in the army for me.

Again. TH5, so cant make any DE Troops. Also dont have enough camps for those sort of numbers.

My farming build includes 10 wall breakers and no giants. I have 220 troop space, but yes wallbreakers help. Don't really know about giants. I like the queue time without them.

just barch dead bases if you can't find any add some giants so you can break into bases

If I could run shorter times right now, and had more room, I probably wouldnt be using Giants right now.

Sorta like having the few I do use because they make better decoys for Mortars than my Barbs do, and start enough mayhem to let the wall breakers in to let stuff go to work.

Of course you don't but you are smart enough to lower the numbers to make it comparable to what army you can field? Right?

3 WB, 40 Barb, and 79 Arch was what I was running before with a lack of success.

You can try the alternate army you listed a few posts up. The giants will act as a better meat shield than the barbs which should allow your archers more time to hit the collectors/pumps.

Before you attack someone queue up the 4-5 giants. When you come back they should be done training lowering the time between attacks.

I'll do that seeing as I only have one active barracks right now and wont have second available for another 5-6 hours.

Also been seeing much more success in getting to resources by using the Giants against TH6 and TH7's that come up for me in Silver 2

I've never needed Giants to barch. I think they are a hassle. Too long training time and despite the big HP pool, sincereley not worth the effort until they are greatly level up (lvl 5+).

Though this can be with me only, I have a sort of a trauma with giants as I could never get Giant Healer to work properly.
