Wizzards are more effective in the middle of other troops like barbarians or archers. Just Wizzards will die fast.
Group them all..........to be killed by a mortar shot...
Wizards paired with Giants or Pekkas are extremely effective, sometimes better than Dragons, assuming you're not dealing with bases with level 8 walls or higher.
Lvl 5 wizard does 255 damage per attack. Health of structures varies highly - but let's take Wizard Tower lvl 7 for the average. It's 840 hitpoints. It equals roughly to 3.29 wizards to take in down in one attack. Add in damage from barbarians, archers, giants or other units... you really don't want to clump your wizards together since you'd be wasting your damage potential.
But if you ever do get to spam wizards, drop a healing spell or even a Healer on them to protect them - else you'd be setting yourself on a path to failure. Or just mix them with other units, preferably getting them to tank for your wizards.
I had a fun attack using 50 lvl 4 wizards. It wasn't a very tough base but I lost a lot of them from spring traps, still they didn't do that badly. I'll do it again when I have upgraded them to level 5 and have my camps at level 7 and will bring some spells too.
Thanks everyone. Some great tips! Now what about Wizard Towers en masse?
