Balloons are very effective in the campaign missions, you can nearly complete every level with some archers to take out air def and a balloon or two to finish everything else off.
thats the only use I have found for balloons, I never use them to attack other players

Ballons are interesting in offense because they're a mix between giants and minions. But they are meh because:
- 10 minutes to make (vs 2 min for giants)
- not ranged
- costs 2-5k elixir (ie twice the price of a giant)
- goes for defense buildings with half the HP of giants (so they get the aggro from archer towers FASTER than giants, because they are not slowed down by the walls)
- 2-shot by air defense (which means you need to take the air defense down first in some way)
Compare that to the minion: 45s to make, cheap, ranged, 2 housing space, but killed in 2 hits by archer towers. It seems more worth it to go with giant+minions than ballons(+anything). Although dragons could tank for the balloons? But that's an expensive army that takes for ever to train.
Poor balloons have feelings too :( not only you.
In the next update when balloons die they will drop straight down and cause splash damage
I think that what would make everyone happy in improving balloons would be decreasing the training time to like 5 minutes and the cost to make one too as well as increasing their health. Make them like the airborne version of giants that eliminate defenses with ease when grouped together. This makes it preferable to choosing air attacks without the long wait or elixir consumption of dragons.
Decease training time to 5 minutes and then they will sweet. I Always have 4 Lvl 5 balloons in my army camp, if using the giant-healer combo
I love balloons, I would use a few in my farming mix if they didn't take so damn long to produce. Reduce the time and I think you'd see them far more often.
