I've had at least 5 villages I've raided in the last week that had gem boxes in them during my attack. Since they're visible it'd seem sensible for you to be able to steal the boxes. With this in place only raids that are successful would yield gems to the raiders. This promotes better planning during the raid and also makes people tempted to have a revenge raid.

Otherwise people would be farming gems nonstop on inactive players and SC would lose money.
No bad idea. You steal $0.25 from me cuz I didnt have a builder ready to go collect that box id be mad. Also saw this idea before they wanted a t0new troop to attack trees logs mushrooms n collect those gems too. BAD Idea if it results in people breaking their smart devices. Come up with another idea and keep raiding.

People would just drop trophies and beat the snot out of TH3-6 and steal their gem box. It'll be like taking candy from a baby
as is always said whenever someone suggests this idea. IT'S A TERRIBLE IDEA.

In general, I agree it's a bad idea to let people to steal gem boxes, UNLESS they implement something like this: The player gets a week to claim his gem box, after that, it's open to be stolen. The week-long timer could be reset every time the player logs-in, thereby essentially guaranteeing that the player has abandoned their base and doesn't care about the gem box.
