1 Gem Boost Question

Upgrade as many mines to lvl8 as possible but make sure all the upgrades are done by 7th August (when the 1 gem boost for 7 days offer)

**Math+Full answer**

1600*2=3200 (no. of gold per hour from lvl7 mine*2=no. of gold hour sec w/ boost)
3200*24=76,800 (no. of gold per hour w/ boost*24=no. of gold per day w/ boost)
76,800*6=460,800 (no. of gold per day w/ boost*6=no. of gold per day from 6 mines w/ boost)
460,800*7=3,225,600 (no. of gold per day from 6 mines w/boost*7=no. of gold in 7 days from 6 mines w/ boost)
1*6=6 (no. of gems for 7 day boost*6=no. of gems for 7 day boost for 6 mines)

Therefore with 6 gems, you could get a maximum of 3,225,600 gold over the boost span of 7 days from , considering you don't get raided :p

However, the offer ends till 7th August so there's still 6 days (from today (1st August) onwards) and the lvl8 mine upgrade takes only 1 day.

(I'm not gonna write down the math 'cause you've already seen it above already)

So with 6 lvl8 mines boosted for 7 days you could get up to 3,830,400 gold. However problem is, you don't have 6 builders – no-one has – so time all the upgrades carefully, for example when all builders are available upgrade gold mines when you know in 1 day exactly you won't be busy, e.g.: before lunch or dinner so the next day before lunch or dinner you will be ready to boost the lvl8 mines and upgrade the lvl7 mines and repeat until all mines are lvl8 and boosted. Make sure you finish upgrading and boosting before 7th August.

**Example**
(I have 3 builders)

12:00, 1st August:
Upgrade 3 mines to lvl8 (each taking 1 day).

12:00, 2nd August:
3 mines upgraded to lvl8. 3 lvl8 mines boosted for 7 days using 3 gems. Start upgrading 3 more mines to lvl8.

12:00, 3rd August:
Other 3 mines upgraded to lvl8. Other lvl8 mines boosted for 7 days using 3 gems.

Anytime, 7th August:
2nd CoC Anniversary ends. First 3 lvl8 mines: 2 days remaining. Other 3 lvl8 mines: 3 days remaining.

12:00, 9th August:
First 3 lvl8 mines' boost ended. Other 3 lvl8 mines' boost: 1 day remaining.

12:00, 10th August:
Other 3 lvl8 mines' boost ended; all 6 lvl8 mines' boost ended.

what happens if you upgrade a boosted gold mine/elixir pump? does the timer pause? I made a mistake of boosting them when I have max defenses and idle builders

If your collectors are not already maxed, you can actually get nearly 14 days of boost. I would boost ASAP, then, before 7th August, upgrade each collector. This will cancel the boost on each one. You then cancel each upgrade immediately (yes you will lose half the resources you just spent on each upgrade, but you will make it up with the second boost) and can then boost again. Make sure you do this well before the next maintenance break on 7th August so you don't miss out on the second boost. I did that last year, have maxed collectors now so can't do it this year (you actually make more during these boosts from lower level collectors than higher level ones this way - strange isn't it?). This only works if your collectors are not maxed, i.e. an upgrade is possible, as this is the only way to cancel a boost. Hope this helps!
