Suggestion for clan war matchmaking
Dear supercell, I feel strongly that the current matchmaking system is unfair. Nobody knows your secret algorithm for matchmaking but it seems to rely heavily on the total points of the clans that are matched up. I'm sure there are other factors that weigh into the algorithm but the total points seem to be the most important criteria.
This has resulted in many lopsided matches. Many players artificially lower their trophy counts and this makes any system which weighs trophy counts inherently unreliable. My clan is called "tings" and the current matchup is a good example. We stand no chance of winning if there is good participation on the part of our opponents. Even though the total points of our clan is higher, I went and manually summed up the levels of the war participants in both clans. Their levels totaled 2,338. Ours totaled 2,064. This may not be a large percentage different when aggregated, but player by player it is a huge disparity. The opposing clan's players are, on average, 9 levels higher than my clan's players. Looking at their bases only reinforces this disparity. How is this fair?
My suggestion is that supercell base war matchups on the SUM TOTAL OF ALL THE LEVELS OF THE PLAYERS PARTICIPATING IN THE WAR instead of trophies or total clan points. There is no way to artificially lower your player level and this would result in a much fairer system in my opinion. The system could also weigh less heavily troop levels and walls but player level is the fairest measure of strength and should count the most. Total clan points is a useless number and should be disregarded.
Supercell, at the very least, if you have a justification or rational for NOT altering the current system of matchmaking, you owe it to your loyal fans to lay it out for us here. There are many many unhappy clashers who feel slighted by the current system.
Thanks and clash on!
