Im lvl 81 and upgrading my th to 9. Three of my barracks are at drag and one is at healer. Do I really need pekkas? Are they really that good and used that often for a new th9? Or should I save my elixir for something else? Im reluctant to start a 6 day barrack upgrade cuz i attack often and need my barracks. Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

Now, ask yourself: Are they worth it?
You should still upgrade them in my opinion. Pekkas are use a lot of high level raids such as in GoWiPe.
Also the extra space for the barracks is invaluable when you're farming.
Personally, I wouldn't upgrade my barracks right away. You're going to need elixir for troop and spell upgrades. And having one less barracks will slow down your raiding at a critical time in your upgrade process.
Do It....The Pekka Barrack are way better looking than the ugly orange.
Pekkas are fun as hell, but I honestly didn't really start using them til recently (almost max defense TH 8). For fun factor? Yes! Practicality? The dude above me is so right. Could be better used on troop upgrades right now. Your call based on playing style
thanks for the replys guys! My town hall upgrade finishes in 9 days and i hope to have one barrack to pekka by then. Are lvl 1 pekkas worth it to use or do they need to be upgraded first? And how are they best used?

Upgrade them last in the laboratory. At level 3, they become boss and super fun in GoWiPe when they go in the right direction.:)Quote:

Upgraded is the way to go. I'd never upgrade em before arch and barb, because that's my go-to army. For everything other than straight farming, I usually use gowipe. But you need golems too! I did gowipe with level one pekkas, wasn't too hot. It did some things. Anyhow, my level 3 pekkas are shredding. I'm antsy to get L5. Have fun!
Yes. I, myself, upgraded one.
They are not your highest priority as a new TH9, as the giants, achers, hogs etc should be first
But having the barrcks is very important for pumping out armies
Later stages of Th9 you will be overflowing in elix and uprgade everything anyway, thats when Pekkas will come
Then you can start having fun with the most awesome destructive army there is - GoWiPe
I just love it
Gowipe is quite popular among th9. So I guess it will worth it.
clan wars dude. with the hog nerf pekkas are important to max. as are golems.
